Haven't been to Disney for awhile so I'm not sure if anything has change last time we stayed at dtd property. We always walked over to dtd and got the bus from there then using our hotel bus.Can we still do that? Or do they ask for some kind of id showing that you are actually staying on Disney property? Thanks all

None of the DTD buses go directly to any park. They go to the resorts where you would have to take another bus/monorail/boat/pathway to a park. Not very efficient. Also, and I'm not real sure on this, but I don't believe the buses run from DTD until 8-9 ish....so if you were hoping to make rope drop or have an early start to your day, this wouldn't be the way to do it.

The WDW bus system can by used by any person with valid WDW admission.

Happy planning:goodvibes

There are now no buses from DTD directly to the theme parks: you must transfer at a resort. In the mornings, buses between DTD and resorts can be few and far between as there's not a lot of demand until 10:00ish, picking up as the day moves on. The DTD hotels generally share a bus to the parks, but they are not as convenient as the Disney buses (for the MK, they stop at the TTC rather than the gates).

You don't need your room key showing that you are staying at Disney property to ride any Disney transportation (bus, boat, monmorail)

Resort buses still go to DTD but, as pp, do not run as frequently in early morning. If you wanted to go directly to a park from DTD, you could take the launch over to Saratoga Springs to catch the bus or you could catch a bus to the resort nearest the park you want to go to. Going to EPCOT - Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Club would be a short walk. Would bring you into World Showcase. You could also catch the Friendship boat to DHS from either of these resorts. MK, you could go to Poly, GF and boat or monorail it over. Contemporary would be a short walk to MK. For AK, you would have to go the AKL and take the bus over but a fantastic resort to see. Good way to explore other resorts also.

Have a great time.

Thanks for the great post. I have been looking for a list of options in case one route is extremely busy. It might take longer to get where we are going but instead of waiting in line we can see another resort etc. We are staying onsite and going to use the bus system for the whole trip....Thanks again.

Also keep in mind that the launch to Saratoga is now on the Westside, not the marketplace so it is a pretty long walk depending on which DTD hotel you are at.

That won't work in the a.m., either. The boats start running at 10 a.m.

Guests trying to get to a park from DTD after 8 a.m. are put on a bus to a nearby resort, usually PO or SSR, and instructed to catch a bus to a park from there. If they're lucky, the bus they're on may be going to their park of choice after the resort. Expect a trip of an hour or so.

Before 8 a.m., buses do not pick up at DTD.
