Oh well. We were going to tour the week before Labor Day, but the start of school has been moved up to August 23. So we will now be in WDW from Saturday August 14 to Saturday August 21. It would be great if someone could give me some ideas on our touring plans. We visited once before in June 2002, but tried to do too much. We know we can't see everything. There will be a group of 9 ranging in ages from 3 to 62 :). We will be staying offsite at the Holiday Inn Family Suites. We will be arriving early to the parks, leaving after lunch and coming back after 4. We want to see the Magic Kingdom too, but usually go to Disneyland for a few days at least every other year so its not top priority for this trip. Which evenings are good for the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

Saturday - Arrive early after red eye flight. Relax, recover from flight. EPCOT or Chef Mickeys in the evening.
Sunday - Animal Kingdom or MGM (can't decide which) in the morning (maybe fantasmic at night)
Monday - Islands of Adventure in morning. Not sure about evening.
Tuesday - Day off maybe, Downtown Disney and enjoy the hotel.
Wednesday - Disney Studios or Animal Kingdom (whichever we didn't do on Sunday morning. Open for evening.
Thursday - Universal Studios or IOA in morning. EPCOT in evening.
Friday - Open
Saturday - Fly back home

We'll be there the same time frame! Went same time last year. Crowds aren't too bad. My suggestion would be to sit down and have everyone in your group make a list of their 'must do's'. Check out the travel guides. Then you'll have to make some choices. No way are you all going to be able to do/see everything you want. So, each person should get several picks.

I would plan one sit-down meal per day, someplace. It's a nice rest and great to get out of the heat/humidity.

Get to the parks at opening. Check out which park has early entry for on-site guests and then choose a different park!! We like to do AK for 1/2 day, starting early in the day. Then go over to MGM for the rest of the day and catch Fantasmic. Epcot can take a long time if you've never seen it before. There's a lot to see and do. It actually warrants two visits. We like to split it up over two days.

We have found that if you get to the water parks at opening you'll be better off. Then we leave at lunchtime, since it gets really crowded then. That might be a good time to head over to Epcot for IllumiNations in the evening. You could slide a visit in to MK some free evening. Or on a Tuesday morning. That's not a bad time in my experience.

Most of all...have a great time. Planning is half the fun. You'll never see and do everything on one visit. I've been 4 times now and I'm still finding something new each trip.

Hey Temple and Goofy, we'll be there that same week! We're staying at the Dolphin. It will be my wife and I (43, 38) our daughter and her girl friend, both 14.

Re: Your touring plan. You don't have any Magic Kingdom at all? We're probably going to do MK, Epcot and AK and in between those days during the week, just relaxing or doing other things such as going to Kennedy Space Center or one of the water parks. The park we're looking forward to the most is Epcot. We all love science and different cultures.

The main thing I've learned over the years is that I've always planned too much and tried to see too much. This time I'm determined for this to be a very relaxing time and if we miss something, then we'll catch it next time.

I'll be there the same time. The best advice I can give you is RELAX and ENJOY!!!!!! Plan, but don't be afraid to wander from your plan. Some of the best times for us has been spur-of-the-moment stuff. We've been going in August for at least 12 years now. It will be hot, so drink a lot of water. I like your attitude that you already know you won't be able to see everything. Honestly WDW will be there for a long long time. See what you can and just enjoy your family, "smell the roses" and make wonderful memories!!

Have a Wonderful Vacation and Maybe I'll See Ya!!!!!!
