I definitely made the wrong decision with our ticket purchases last year. I thought about buying AP's but held off...I guess I should have because we are going a week earlier this year and they would have still been good. There goes $1000 out the window! My problem is...this year we will be staying for 10 days. I know that it seems to make sense to get AP's, but I know for sure we aren't coming back until after 12 months goes by. The price for the ultimate hopper passes is about the same as the AP's, but if we want to do water parks it is included in the UPHs but not the APs and the PAPs are more. Also, are the UPHs available in advance now for a discounted rate or only regular hoppers?? If anyone has followed me this far, I'd appreciate a little advice. Thanks so much.

I once bought UPH because Disney Quest was included, and for us that became the deal-maker. Another quirk is that if you get the AP, there is a bit of a discount at the water parks. This trip, if the AP discount doesn't help with lodging, you may be better off with the UPH (usually too much for us). There is a 15$ discount on the AP if you happen to have Disney Club.

I'm having almost the same dilemma you are Michelle. We are heading down for 7 days in October. As of now, I'm debating between the PHP and the UPH to get the most bang for our bucks. The main benefit of the PHP is that we can save unused days and plus options for our next trip, while the UPH makes sure we can do everything we want while we are there. Have to decide soon, as we are heading down in Oct and I want to have everything bought by then.

I'll be interested to see some of the comments to your question.

You cannot buy a UMP ahead of time, therefore only the Hoppers are discounted... sorry. UMP are included in your room cost. If you are going to spend a lot of time going to water parks, PI, and Disney Quest, then the UMP may make more sense for you. However, remember, if you decide not to go to a park for a day, or get sick, the UMP tickets still expire at midnight the day of checkout. With AP's you can elect to revisit later in the year, and with Hopper Plus, they never expire.

Have a great vacation!:)

I prefer the hopper passes plus. JoeH that is the ticket I would suggest for you. The biggest advantage is that if you dont use all the days you can use them on a future trip making them much more flexible. With tik prices going up every year, I always want to buy an extra one just to save me money in the future.

UMP are wonderful if you are only going a few days. Saying that I have a few questions. Are you going to a Disney park everyday of your stay? Because they can only remove the c/i day and the c/o day. If you decide to go to IOA on your third day you will have paid their admission as well as Disney's. They will NOT refund you that day and you CANNOT use it on a future trip. From what you have told us I would suggest one of the park hopper plus tickets. Take a day to relax at the resort or visit one of the other parks in the area

In response to some of the other posts...we will definitely be doing the parks every day. Perhaps one day at a water park. We usually do a park during the day and switch to Epcot at night for dinner and fireworks since the other parks close earlier in Oct. I've always purchased the UPHs before. I don't think the park hopper passes have enough days for us...we will use 9 days in the parks. The UPHs are expensive but it seems like the only thing that will work at this point. Thanks to everybody for the help and advice!

Hopefully I did the math right, but here is my suggestion:

Assuming you would be buying the Ultimate Park hopper that is good for 8 nights/9 days, the preorder price is listed as $392 per adult.

An annual pass is $392 per adult plus the cost of any water parks, Pleasure Island, ect. that you would want to do.

I would suggest getting the 7 day Park Hopper Plus for $308 pre purchase price. This will give you 7 days in the parks plus 4 plus options. For the eighth day, you could go to a waterpark and then do pleasure island at night. Then, for the 9th day, buy 1 day park passes for $55 each. You wouldn't be able to hop that day, so plan it for a day that you will be in one park. The total for this plan is $363. And, if you would get sick or for some reason decide not to go to a park one day your days or plus options will never expire and will be good for the next trip. Just a suggestion, but I hope it helps.
