Hi All
We are planning a trip for the end of April. Going will be me, DH, DD(9), DS(12) and the grandparents. I would like to reserve a Tree House Villa but don't know if one location is more preferable than another? :confused3Any recommendations? We will have a car so we won't be relying on Disney transportation.
Thanks for any tips.

Haven't been there yet but from what I understand, the North entrance is near the roadway, and the South entrance is near the SSS resort. We will not have a car so I have requested near the South entrance so hopefully we can just walk over to catch the resort buses rather than having to take the internal bus first. Should be no issue as we do not have any little ones, just adults.

My family is not particularly fussy about anything, we had a Treehouse and our balcony looked out at the golf course, and we weren't far from the treehouse pool. I would take it again, or really any other one, especially if like us, you have a car.

There are steps, except for the HA ones. I'm the one who has a tough time with steps, so I just took them slowly. We were 3 children and 4 adults and thought the sleeping arrangements were fine. We'll have 3 children and 5 adults in October. The extra adult will have the sleeper chair, and we think it's going to work out fine.

We booked this at 7 months from a waitlist.

We were right next to a bus stop and pretty close to the boat dock. I'd request close to the bus stop - that was very convenient!

Request one of the units nearest Saratoga walkway, otherwise the ones near the road/entrance are not near anything useful! we stayed in an interior unit so there was no real view, but the walk to the pool and boat dock was quick. Check the map for exact unit numbers, i don't remember what they were anymore.

I disagree, sorry! IMO since they have a car, and transportation is not an issue, I would recommend being at the north part of the resort, and thus closer to the exit. If they are in the middle, there is a spot where it is one way and they have to drive completely around the bottom circle to get back out to the top and exit.

Remember there is only room for 1 car at the THV, so if you have a 2nd one, it has to be parked at the Grandstand. Parking for larger vehicles can be tight in spots!

Good to have a car with you at THV, that's for sure. Make sure to go to your villa while there is still daylight ... we had a bit of a hard time finding ours after dark, lol.
Depending on how much you want to walk, being close to the pool or the Saratoga walkway or boat dock is always nice.
The Disney THV bus makes the loop fairly often, too. You have to transfer from that bus to a Saratoga bus in order to get to the parks, should you decide to use Disney bus transport instead of driving yourself.

It may be difficult to get a THV if you don't own at SSR. Seven months is hard for the THV.

We stayed at the THVs in August 2010, we asked for a water view and lucked out with #7026, which has, by far the best water view. It is very secluded and the unit has uninterrupted water views from both the living room and the master bedroom.

We were on the boat to Downtown Disney one night and you could see other units that were along the water, but none with views as g

Thanks for all the advice. We are hoping that at the end of April it will be easier to request a THV at the 7 month mark. Since we have a car, I guess we won't have to be too picky if we get one. Our second choice would be for OKW. We need 3 bedrooms but don't need a Grand Villa.
