My Dh and I are taking a quick first trip to WDW. Not a lot of time to see everything, obviously, but I do want to check out a resort or two (we're staying at ASMo). So I picked the Poly for no real reason other than we could get an ADR at Kona. So help me plan...

We'll be at MK that day, so I assume we take the monorail over (is there a boat too??) ADR is at 6:40 so we should leave MK by 4:00? Have time to wander around, maybe hit Trader Sam's before dinner. Then I want to be back at MK by 9:00 for MSEP/Wishes so I assume there won't be a lot of time after dinner to explore.

So what tips and tricks can you give me for the Poly? Things to go, places to see, best way to get there/back from MK? Thanks!

Yes, you can take either the monorail or the boat from the MK over to the Poly. Either way, the trip should only take 20 minutes or so.

The Poly is beautiful at night! You can explore the grounds, the beach bar, the lobby, upstairs lounge and get a Lapu Lapu (rum drink in a pineapple) and see what's going on at Trader Sam's.

I take either the boat or monorail, depending on which is busier. Either takes about 10-20min, depending on wait.

Kona Cafe is wonderful, we really enjoy the food there. Have fun!

If you want to be in position to see the parade, you won't have any time to explore the resort after dinner. Leaving MK at 4:00 should give you plenty of time to look around.

We have spent quite a bit of time visiting the Poly, and have never stayed there. To get there, the resort monorail runs clockwise, so it is the third stop after MK, or you could take a boat direct to it, which we tend to do a little more going from MK. Then once you're done, on the monorail MK is the second stop after the Poly, or you could take the boat, depending on where you end up at the Poly (down on the beach or up by the monorail). Another transportation option is walking to or from the TTC, where you can get on an Epcot monorail. We find this to be useful, so that you can stop by Poly easily on your way to/from Epcot and it gives you a chance to walk around and explore its grounds.

Yes, as a DL vet, the MSEP is an absolute must do! So I think we'll do our exploring before dinner.
Poly sounds great! Can't wait!
