Hi, DH and I are booking our very first cruise and we are taking DDs with us. We are planning a Land and Sea package with 4 nights at sea and 3 on land. We are booking a cat. 6, with a verandah, so the Disney web site has offered us rooms on deck 6 right in front of the mid ship elevators and lobby. So, our question is this: how noisy will this be? I realize we will only ever take one cruise so we are planning to have a great time, but we do need sleep. Our youngest DD has epilepsy and sleep is very important to her for maintaining a seizure free lifestyle. Hallway noise may not be the ticket for us, so any help you can offer is appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

We have had cabins near the elevators on two of our cruises and noise has never been an issue. You'll get hallway noise no matter in most locations on the ship. The exceptions to this are staterooms forward of the Forward elevators and aft of the Aft elevators. Everywhere else is about the same, in our experience. We find being near the elevators is very convenient.

The Deck 6 elevator area is not open to the lobby. It's just like in a hotel. There are 4 elevators and a small, open space in front of them. There is a small area behind the elevators as well, but there is little to no foot traffic there.

Good luck with your choice and enjoy your cruise!

We stayed in 6598 it pretty much equal distance to the center and aft elevators. It is also a not far from the laundry. We did not hear any noise at all. It overlooks the parking lot on departure but you can still see the ocean too. We were able to see Atlantis from our verandah at Nassau and Castaway Cay as well coming into port. Our room steward was Ana. She is a lovely lady.
