Hi
We will be in WDW for the 4th of July. My youngest has Sensory Processing Disorder and has trouble with loud sudden noises (ie fireworks) and texture/food issues. Any suggestions on where to see fireworks that is not as loud but still get good views. We are going with my parents, sister and BIL and dh and our 7yo also.

Thanks so much!!!!

good luck. we have never been very successful with fireworks, except for last year. We came out of the French restaurant late and the fireworks started as we walked out.Yikes! Big brother(21) clapped his arms tightly around Christian(12) and hugged him hard while attempting to keep his ears covered and talk calmly at the same time. Gotta hand it to Big bro. This was the first and only time Christian has "enjoyede" fireworks.

For MK fireworks, try the beach at the Polynesian. My son also hated the sound when he was younger. You'll miss the ground stuff but have a good view of the sky without the noise.

I also have a son that is very sensitive to noise. Unfortunately, we always find the fireworks loud no matter where you are and my son always hates it. (We even hear them at night at the BCV).

Why not try those little squishy ear buds that go into the ear? We have one brand called stopples. I think they're disposable. I was thinking of trying them this time because they are inconspicous and my son won't feel self conscious but it will cut down the noise for him.

Just take the boat back to the TTC just before the fireworks start. Either on the boat OR at the boat dock at the TTC allows nice views with no noise!

I will agree watching them on the way back to the TTC is the only thing that works for our family. Granted you don't hear the music and see the ENTIRE show but you get a nice overview and stay sensitive to little ones ears.

My dd does not have SPD but she HATES the noise that fireworks make. She loves them from a distance. Last year when we were checking out of the Contemporary the fireworks started. We sat in the car in the parking lot and watched them.

We are going to try ear plugs this time around. My ds is a bit uneasy with the noise but loves fireworks. I'm hoping ear plugs will make dd more comfy.
