help with Sirius satellite radio

Any information would be appreciated. My husband wants this for his birthday and I am clueless, and he wants it to be a "surprise" so he will not go with me to the store. He wants to be able to use it in the car (we have a new Titan which is supposedly satellite radio ready, whatever that means) and in the house. Help please! I am going to the store this weekend and fall on the mercy of the salesperson.

Make it a real surprise and get him XM - the covereage is supposed to be better. I know very little about Sirius, but we've had XM in both of our cars for more than 3 years now. I'll never go back to regular radio.

I've had Sirius for three months now and I love it. I have it in my car, and I got it over XM mostly because of Sirius' NFL coverage. However, I've since come to find that XM has much better in-house coverage. I can't even get a Sirius signal in my house, and my next door neighbor gets excellent XM coverage in her house.

Thanks for all suggestions. My husband wants it mostly for NFL coverage. He did break down and talk with some sales people this weekend, he was told that he can access all the stations from the internet on the sirius site, so maybe reception would be better than with the receiver.

Sirius definitely makes sense if he's wanting to hear NFL games. Hope you are able to get it soon!

I know XM has a deal right now where if you buy the car receiver you can get an in-home receiver for free by mail. I am leaning toward XM myself (I can get Browns games on local FM) but since my car will be in the shop for a few more weeks, I'll have to put it on hold.
