I am hoping someone will be able to help me with my project.
I went to the store this past year at xmas time and was shocked at the cost for a few scented pine cones.......................SO

I have been pine cone hunting and want to store them until next Christmas,,I washed them and am going to bake (just to make sure no little critters are in them).

I will be using my scented cinnamon clay and Mickey head cutter to add
some finishing touches and a few cinnamon sticks to tie on the outside of the bags. I'm thinking of using some organza bags.

Till I am ready to scent them and if they are fully dry can I store them in large baggies till next Dec??

Thanks
Hugs Mel

Here is the site recipe I am following

I guess my worry is opening the bags 6 months from now to find out they have gone moldy so I am thinking maybe packing them in a cardboard box might be better?

Hugs Mel

I would put a layer of rice under the pine cones to absorb any remaining moisture. Sounds like a cute project.

Mel, when I used pinecones many years ago, I tied a string to the top and hung them on hangers to be sure they were dried. It worked and I had no bugs..good luck:)
