We have the CP Dinner package for Dec 17 at San Angel. We all like Mexican, but the problem is DW - she's very picky! She does not like spicy food or onions, peppers, mushrooms, etc. Now, I know it sounds like she would hate Mexican food, but she loves it - as long as it's just so. She like burritos, as long as there is no lettuce or tomatoes inside. (She likes tomatoes, just not in things!:confused3 ) She likes flour tortillas, but not corn-based. Also, her favorite meat is chicken, but not breaded or smothered in anything "weird".

OK, now with all of that said - what do you recommend at San Angel? I've looked over the menu, but not sure of many of the ingrediants.

Thanks.

Disney restaurants are, across the board, usually very accommodating when it comes to leaving out ingredients/modifying dishes.

Ask your server when you get their about the possibility of specific changes. If you, or DW, are really concerned you can always call ahead to the restaurant to request a special meal.

I think your DW should be able to get something she likes at San Angel!

Sorry to be a little blunt, but I wouldn't count on San Angel to accomodate a pickey eater. We like all kinds of foods and weren't too impressed with anything but the appetizers. Its the only restaurant at Disney I won't return to. Also, our service wasn't great - now you may have better luck, but that's our experience.

Like your wife, I'm a very picky eater - but my DH loves Mexican (though I think many on these boards don't consider San Angel good Mexican, he'll eat it good or bad :lmao: ).

I would recommend the Nachos (on the lunch menu I think they're called the Nachos de Pollo, but I know they also serve them for dinner). Here's the description:

Nachos - border creation of tortilla chips topped with red sauce, melted cheese, chorizo, jalapenos, tomatoes and sour cream $8.25

I get them without the jalapenos and tomatoes. The red sauce is very mild and not all over, then there's cheese, (the ones at lunch have chicken :confused3 ) sausage, and sour cream, which I usually get on the side. They have been more than accomodating both times I've eaten there and asked to leave things off. And it's a huge portion - plenty large enough to serve as a meal.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much, that's EXACTLY what I was looking for - someone who could recommend a specific dish that they have actually eaten!

One quick question: is the sausage spicy?

Thanks again. It is refreshing to get such a good, specific answer and you have saved me a lot of worry.

I think my girl got a chicken qusadilla (sp?) I think it had chicken and cheese. Also a regular soft taco. They have rice and beans too. but there is also a childrens menu if there is nothing she likes or they can't make something more child friendly for her.
