Help with room requests

We haven't been to the world in over 12 years and have never stayed on site. We have a DS (8) and DD (6) and will spend 2 days at ASMo and 5 days at BC. I have read about these "room requests" needing to be faxed, called, etc. The problem is I don't know anything that I might need to request to make this a super special vacation. The only thing I have requested so far is a non-smoking room. Does anyone have any requests you would make in these resorts if you had 2 kids my age????
