I know the ins and outs of all the restaurants at DW- at DL I'm at a loss. I'm looking for a non-character nice meal for a few lunches / dinners. I was all set for the Blue Bayou place, but it will be closed. Any other ideas?

:thumbsup2

I like Jazz Kitchen in DTD. What are some of your favorite restaurants at DW? Knowing your tastes and preferences may help DISer's with their recommendations. There aren't nearly as many choices at DLR as DW, but there are some nice eats there.

Non related but was not the Peter Pan in your picture the nicest guy.
He was so sweet to my dd5 then back in 2003.

Anyway I heard Carnation Cafe

Blue Bayou is our fav. It was going to be my recommendation. The other place we like is a counter service in New Orleans square that has the most delicious clam chowder bread bowls. Yummy!

I will list some of our favorites since we love Blue Bayou as well!

1. Storytellers Cafeat the Grand Californian Hotel. They have a chicken corn chowder at lunch that is to die for. They will even give you the receipe if you ask for it.

2. House of Blues, in downtown Disney, is also good for either lunch or dinner.

3. Taste Pilots Grill in California Adventure next to 'Soar'in' has a nice menu. The chicken popper salad and shakes are great.

4.Pacific Wharf area in California Adventure has some wonderful soups/chowders in a bread bowl and sandwiches with Boudin sour dough bread.

5.Tortilla Jo's has become a new favorite. Great guacomole. Eat outside in the Cantina for a cheaper meal.

I think that will get you started. Marilyn :thumbsup2

Hello! My husband and I are also WDW regulars and we just returned from a quick trip to DL. We were also very disappointed that Blue Bayou - and Pirates! - were closed! We ate at:

Yamabuki at Paradise Pier - great food but totally boring atmosphere

Hook's Pointe at DL Hotel - great food, better atmosphere, but totally overpriced

Hungry Bear Cafe - DL - great location, decent food

Pacific Wharf Cafe - DCA - delicious, but the line was LONG

River Bell Terrace - DL - Good food, good atmosphere, quick service

Storyteller's Cafe (character breakfast) - a highlight of the trip! Great character interaction, delicious food, and terrific atmosphere

On a previous trip we ate at Catal, the Uva Bar, and Napoli's in Downtown Disney and they were all delicious, but lack the Disney magic.

Have fun and be sure to let us know where you eat!
