We are needing a place to stay just for one night. We are getting off of the Disney "Wonder" from our 1st cruise on 11/29 and are going to our 1st MVMCP visit and would like to stay onsite that night before flying home the next day. We won't have park tickets so we will be at the resort for most of Thursday before going to MVMCP that evening. Please recommend a resort that you think would be a good place to stay. Also, if you have any ideas for activities for that day in case the weather is to cold for swimming please list those. It'll be me (41), DH (42), and DD (10).

I was thinking of Coronada Springs because they have the awesome pyramid pool but what if the weather is not good for swimming?

Thanks alot!

If you are attending the party I'd recommend a monorail resort if you could swing the cost. The convenience of riding the monorail or resort launch over and back is priceless. Another resort I would highly recommend would be the Wilderness Lodge which will be decorated for the holidays. OF all the moderates I would recommend CS over the others because I have heard that it has the best bus service.

Any of the Moderates or Deluxe are great. They will all be decorated for Christmas. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach during this time and it was great. I did think you had to have a park admission in order to attend the MVMCP though. I would check this out for sure since we do have to have an entrance for the Not So Scary Holloween Party. Have fun at which ever hotel you pick!!

I agree wth the deluxe stay if you can afford it because you can make the most of your day before going to MVMCP and I just checked with Disney res and you do NOT have to have a park addmission to attend MVMCP just the Party tkt to get in. I would stay at the GF if possible you will love their decorations and the monorail stops just after you board at the MK so you are less than 5 mins away from all the fun at MK!!
Have Fun!pirate:

How about AKL? It is most often the cheapest of the deluxes and I could easily spend all day looking around there and enjoying the animals. Another option might be SSR and spend the day at Downtown Disney shopping, but you could get transportation there from any resort. CR is supposed to have a great arcade and you could get a late ADR for Chef Mickeys for breakfast. When we got off our cruise we were literally checking into AKL by 10:00 AM! I believe you can actually enter MK as early as 4:00 pm on a party ticket, so waste no time waiting around till 7:00! Have fun!

Thanks so much for all the responses!! I would love to stay at the Poly but I don't think that's in our budget this trip :sad2: but we'll have a great time whereever we stay I'm sure. Thanks again!!! I will definitely check into the deluxes though and see what I can find for our budget! :)
