Help with question about transferring

I own at BCV with an August UY. My question is I was thinking of going to Aulani next August in 2023 and I was thinking of getting a transfer to my acct so I would have the extra points to book . when would the best time I should start looking be AND should they have the same use year? Should I look for BCV points or Aulani?

To book Aulani using home resort advantage, you have to get all Aulani points.

Since your BCV points are not good until 7 months out, any resort points would work if you want to use them with your own.

You just want to get points that are good for an Aug 2023 trip, so plenty of UYs will work.

Anything you book at 11 months will have to be booked with Aulani points, so yes.
