I am just no good at fixing anything that has an electrical cord or moving parts-I'll be the first to admit that I have a difficult time getting the hood of my car open, so please be gentle with me all you experts out there:) My Hewlett Packard 932C printer has refused to work for the last 2 days. When I turn it on the ink light flashes. I tried replacing the cartridge, but now all it does is make a thud sound, almost like it's stuck. tried the trouble shooting guide, but it didn't tell me any more than my feeble mind already figured out-that there's a cartridge problem. Is it time to take it in for repairs, or is there something else I can try?

When you open the cover, does the cartridge assembly move to the center?

no- the cartridge goes to the far left.

My epson 850 stopped working a few months ago. It just went to the Goodwill pile. I have a few cheap printers so I need to hook up one of those. I know with Epson the printers don't seem to have a long life span. Our HP has lasted a bit longer.

Sounds like the carriage is jammed, happens some times. You can try to gently move it to center to unjam, but, as Janette said, inkjet printers are pretty inexpensive and not worth fixing. They make the money in the ink replacement.

I was just thinking though, is the left where it is supposed to go for cartridge replacement? Most come to the center.

I think I finally got it to work right. Even though both cartridges are fairly new I replaced the color cartridge, and now it seems to be working okay. According to the HP website a defect in the cartridge would cause the problem I was having. Thanks for all the help!
