Hi everyone! I know long time no post. lol. I have been busy with ds and working and trying to graduate (which was unable to do, but that is another thread. I will graduate next year).

Anyway, I am needing help with ds's birthday invites. He is wanting a POTC party, I am always making my kids birthdays personalized. I did dd's Ariel invites, they are on here somewhere, but I have let time get away and I do not have time to create one for ds. Can someone help me? I have a saying I want to put on it, and I want to make it look old fashioned, so I am planning on tea dying the invites and burning the edges. I just need help with the design itself. Here is what I want to put on the invites:

Ahoy Matey! Stop yer pillaging; lend me yer ear, I have a message for ye to hear! The Treasure's been stolen, it must be found, so tighten ye sashes! Bring ye swim gear, it's gonna be wet. Ye be walking the plank on this ye can bet! I'm Captain Justin Sparrow, and will lead the way, on July 14th, I will be 7 that day! We be settin sail at 2:00 fer some swashbucklin fun in the sun!

If someone can help, I will appreciate it. If you think my little saying needs work, please help me with that too. I borrowed most of it from a birthday party website, my creative juices are gone at the moment. HELP! :goodvibes

I did this design for another little boys birthday invites and put your info on it. I am not great with wording but think that the second section may need some kind of change. The first, third and fourth sections all rhyme but not the second. I wasn't sure how to change it. If you need any changes, let me know.

WOW that turned out very nice.

Great job Amy!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Thanks to both of you. You have both been very busy.

Millie, I am really liking the new princesses with the scenes/pictures in the skirts. Very Creative!

and Pat, your new line of pooh character names are simply adorable. I keep thinking I need one - I already snagged an Eeyore one you did for another Amy. Very Cute!

I see that Amy already has you covered with a wonderful design! This is the invitation that I just used for ds's 8th birthday with your wording. I changed the poem just a little to make it flow better, though it still could be tweaked a little.

This is an 8.5" x 11" size, and I did burn the edges on mine. I rolled it like a scroll and tied it with some twine, because mine weren't going through the mail.

Also, do you want address or RSVP info on the invitation or are you going to do it separately?

Beth - Very Cool! I like yours alot and good changes on the wording!

Thanks, Amy! I was hoping that you wouldn't mind me putting mine out there, too. When I first checked, there weren't any responses, so I made the changes. Then I had to go out for a while, and I saw that you already had one made.

Your designs are terrific!

Beth,
Never! The more.. the merrier. Now it gives the dis'er some choices. Glad you went ahead and posted it!

Thanks Beth! I love the new wording. :-) I just realized that I did not include our address or RSVP info. Any suggestions on what to do with that? Put it on the same page or just print out another page with the info on it?

Amy, I love your invite too, which one do I choose? Maybe I can use both, one for the party and one for the pirate cruise at WDW in Oct.

Thanks again ya'll! I appreciate you both doing this for me. I've been working alot, taking Justin to doctors appts and therapy appts alot, so any spare time I get, I am literally brain dead and comatose. Anyway, thanks again. :)

I think that I would put a separate 1/2 or 1/4 page in with all of the important information again: date, time, place, RSVP info, etc. I know that most of that is in the invitation, too, but it doesn't hurt to repeat yourself sometimes. Also, that would be something that someone could easily stick up on the fridge or bulletin board.
