DD got into poison ivy the other day. What are some of the better OTC creams and such?
TIA

My only experience with poison ivy was when DH had to go to the ER for it. His eyes started to swell shut. They have him prednisone pills and a cortisone cream I believe (prescription).

When I had a severe allergic reaction the dermatologist had me soak towels in Mayfield's Nutrish milk and lay them on my arms. I would pour the milk in a four cup container and soak clean dish towels in them. This is the only thing that would take out the itch, plus it was so good and cooling. I would put the remaining milk back in the container, as it was expensive and I was doing this four times a day. This gallon jug was marked DO NOT USE in big letters so no one would accidentally drink it. The doctor also told me this was great for poison ivy. I drink a glass of it each day to neutralize the acidity in my mouth as I tend to get mouth ulcers easily. For those of you reading this who can't buy Mayfield's milk this milk goes my other names too, sometimes something with acidophilus in it. I hope this helps.

Go talk to the pharmacist- that's how we decided on what we use now- technu and zanfel.

Good luck and I hope she is not too uncomfortable.
