Help with plan for Grandma and DS6 while we ride FJ

We're going to IOA on Thursday, August 25th. We are not staying on-site, but we do plan to be there for opening. DH and I will be heading to WWoHP first thing to ride FJ and tour the shops. We also have my mom - Grandma - and DS6 with us. They will not be riding FJ, although they would enjoy FotH.

My question is...what should Grandma and DS6 do while DH and I are on FJ? Should they trek back to WWoHP with us to ride FotH? If they do that, what should they do after they ride it? Or should they head someplace else first, like Seuss Landing and then meet us in WWoHP later? We are planning to have lunch at Three Broomsticks, so we all need to be in WWoHP by lunchtime.

I appreciate any input!

They could go through the queue with you and then just wait in the child swap.

They can also just go with you and do the castle tour, without getting on the ride.

They can maybe wait in line to get into Ollivander's. Depending on the time of day and crowds, the wait could be a while.

The extrance and exit of the ride are right next to each other - a large conveyor belt. it is easy to ewait for other who are riding. When we went, only my youngest daughter rode (I was too big and my other daughter to chicken!). We just waited right by the exit - it's only a few minutes from when they get on until when they exit.

I don't do FJ, but I always walk through the queue with hubby and hold the bags while he rides. There are benches right outside the castle where the shop/ride dumps you out.

Another nice spot if it's not too busy (and end of August shouldn't be too busy, since I would think most schools are back in session) is the outdoor seating area behind Three Broomsticks. There are covered patio tables back there and it's easy to get to by going through the bar that's attached to the restaurant. Now, if it's busy mealtime, you probably couldn't find an open table, but I've always had good luck resting back there. You can get butterbeer at the bar there, too.

Jurassic Park has a Discovery Center in the "land" next to Harry Potter. It's indoor with shopping, air-conditioned with lots of places to rest and sit. That could be a meeting point if you do FJ at the end of your HP tour.

If you and your husband both have a cell phone, give one to grandma while y'all do your thing, so no matter where she and the child end up, you can call each other to meet back somewhere.
