I have booked a trip to WDW in March 09, and i have a question about the park hopper. I am usually very good with booking for the best value...
I booked 3 seperate rooms for our trip in March, and wanted to go to two parks one day in our 8 days being there...
Since i wanted to do that, i added an extra day to our Magic your way park tickets. INSTEAD of the park hopper since it didnt pay to pay extra for the whole week of park hopping, only for the DAY.

Is that allowed? Will it allow me to take admission off as days instead of park hopper?

Please help me!
Thanks:goodvibes

Having an extra day will not work. Your ticket will be rejected at the turnstile and the CM standing there will explain why if the turnstile readout did not.

You cannot park hop with the same ticket card unless it has the park hopper feature.

You can wait until you need it (get to the second park) and then add the park hopping feature. The cost is the same $55. regardless of how many days you used or how many days you have remaining.

If you are going to a separately ticketed evening party such as Pirates nd Princesses, you don't need hopping on your regular ticket if you came from another park and it is after 4 PM. You then get out only your party ticket which is a separate card.

Visiting one theme park and a water park, or both water parks, etc. does not require the hopping feature and your ticket with water park fun will not be rejected due to hopping rules.

That is correct - you absolutely cannot enter more than one park per day without a hopper option. The ticketing computer keeps track of where you've been that day, so you will be "rejected" if you try to enter a different park the same day without a hopper.

If you think you only want to "hop" on only one day of your eight-day stay, it's not worth it to add the hopper option. As the poster above mentioned, it costs the same $55 to add the hopper feature, whether you use it one day or eight days. Is it worth an additional $55 to hop on just one day? Probably not. That's a pretty expensive upgrade if you're only going to use it one day.

We add the hopper feature because we hop every single day. We go during Food and Wine Festival, and spend part of every day at Epcot. When we divide the $55 hopper fee by 8 days, it works out to $7 per day to add the hopper feature -- totally worth it, in my book, because we're avid hoppers.

Park hopper = $50
extra days on a ticket are only a few bucks after 3 or 4 days.

Disney for sure knows this, and will not allow you to use an 'extra day' on your ticket to hop :)

As others have said park hopping is the way to go here.

Condolences on your son.
