My wonderful DH decided we should take a very last minute trip to the world for 7 nights :earseek: (YIPPPPPPEEEE!!!!) of course I said yes but now trying to get ressies is a nightmare. Anyway, my question is what time should I request a ressie at Ohana's if we are hoping to catch wishes while there? Is an hour enought time ahead or should I try for more. I plan on arriving early for our PS regardless to request and wait for a window seat but not sure what time to make those ressies. All you experienced diners out ther please help.

Check which night you want to eat at Ohana's because wishes does not happen every night! Good Luck

You should try and get PS for at least one to one and a half hours before Wishes starts, get there early and ask to be seated near a window for Wishes. We did this two Fridays ago and they said they would do their best. There were no window tables but we got the next table over and were able to see fine. My personal recommendation would be if you don't mind eating a little later, pick a night where Wishes was at 7:00pm, make a PS for 7:30pm, watch it from the Poly beach then eat. Good luck!

Our last 2 trips we made our PS at 'Ohana for 1 hour before. Both times we got tables in the area where we could see Wishes.

I totally agree! While seeing Wishes during dinner would be great, there is no guarantee you will get a window seat. We always end up in the other room no where near the windows. If I went with the hopes of watching Wishes and then ended up over in the other section it would really put a damper on the whole experience for me.
Good luck!

Good advice! If you do want to chance it, I'd do an hour before, and arrive early like you planned.

We had a PS for 5:40 on a night when Wishes started at 7. We were seated around 6 at a table in the smaller dining room. We were right up against the wall that separates the 2 dinig rooms, about 3-4 tables (25 feet?) from the window. We were just finishing our yummy pineapple dessert when the fireworks started. It was perfect and quite magical. ---H

Thank you to all. I will make our ressies with fingers crossed and arrive early. Until then I will just keep doing the single digit dance :Pinkbounc

You could always have dinner at O'hana and then make your way down to the beach at the Poly. Grab a chair or two, sit back and enjoy the show!!!!!

We went a few years ago with my parents, brother, now sister in law (they were just dating at the time), so it was 7 of us ranging in ages from 7 to 60. We had the 1st seating as we were going to MVMCP after (can't remember if it was 5 or 5:30). We had a round table in the corner nearest the MK. The fireworks started at 6 pm, and it was GREAT. That was back with they dimmed the lights and piped in the music. They no longer do that.

Have they stopped it at Ohana too? I had heard about them stopping it at CA Grill, but I hadnt heard about Ohana. That stinks. :(

I don't particularly remember dimmed lights - they were already pretty dim - but they definately piped in the music when we were there on 12/30. We had 6:45 PSes and were seated about 7pm and watched the 8:30 Wishes while we were finishing pinapple and enjoying the Kona coffee. We were actually a little far from the windows (small dining room but near the reception area) but we could still adjust our seats and get a really nice view. Have a great time!
