Hi All....
I'm wondering how to handle our resort move and first day. We are staying 1 night at BLT then moving over to BWV...However, we're probably going to the MK in the am and then back for MNSSHP. Any suggestions???

Should we just go to MK 1st thing then head over to BWV round noon??? We'll need to check in and I'm worried about transportation back to MK.

Thoughts on how to attack this?
TIA:confused3

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't go to MK in the am. I would go right over to BWV in the morning and check in. Then I would hop on a boat/walk to DHS or Epcot and spend my morning/afternoon there until I got the text to say the villa is ready. Then I would take the short trip back to BWV, get settled in to the room and change (if you're going to need to for MNSSHP) before heading over to MK for the night.

Watch how you pack....put things you need on top....tolieties/ change of clothes/ they way you unpacking for the 1st day will be light...

Hope this helps...have a great time

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

I agree with this. Getting to BWV early, more likely any room requests you have will be more likely met, plus you can potentially have time at MK from 4 til midnight on your MNSSHP tickets. You can get a lot done in that time frame.

This is sort of a textbook example of why I hate split stays--at least ones with only a single night at a resort. Very difficult to plan around and still have any sort of productive day.

Check-in time at BWV will be "after 4pm." That means you really need to understand that you may not get into your room until sometime after 4pm. And if you are relying on Disney to transport your luggage, the bags could arrive even later than that.

I agree with the others that it's probably best to check-in as early as possible. But it's going to take you a good 60-90 minutes to do that (round-trip) using Disney transportation. If you want to save some time, grab a cab. But that will cost $$$. Trading money for time.

Whenever you decide to head over to BWV, don't know that it's worth taking the entire family because the room may not be ready. Assuming you all trek over to BWV at noon and still don't have a room, then what?

Do the early check-in and wait for the room ready text message. Then adjust schedule accordingly.

Other issue could be if you have plans to dress-up--or at least freshen-up--before MNSSHP. Again, no guarantees you will be in the room before 4pm and your luggage may not arrive until well after that.

I'd like to think that you'll have a room available by noon and your luggage will follow shortly after that. But Disney has thousands of rooms to clean and suitcases to relocate every day. Not everyone can get into a room hours before posted occupancy times.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I am also not a fan of split stays but can't seem to get that night at the boardwalk. Anyway, I don't have to worry about moving the whole fam, since it is just Mom and I.

I guess I'll keep trying to get us into the BWV for that 1 night.

Can't you do online check-in, then call the BWV front desk in the AM before heading to MK to see if your room is ready?

If it isn't, tell them your plan to visit MK in the morning and that you'll likely be over about (pick a time). Pack a few light things in small carry-on bag/backpacks (change of cloths for the evening, swim suits/towels, toiletries, etc) and rent a locker at MK to store the stuff.

Head to MK for a couple hours, and maybe check-in with BW a couple of times.

When you are ready, leave MK and head to BWV to get you new KTTW cards, check the status of the room, and have lunch. If the room isn't ready, do something relaxing such as swim, rest near the pool, rest in the lobby, see a movie at DTD, or whatever is low key for your family.

If you are not in the room before the party, find a place to change and freshen up and head over to MK.

Another option would be to do the same but instead of going to MK in the morning, sleep in / relax in your room at BLT until 11AM. Have a nice lunch at a resort (possibly the BW), and head into MK in the mid afternoon. This would conserve more energy than an early wake-up and check-in wouldn't be a problem since you'll have the room available and bags there once you get back from the Halloween party.
