Help with modifying a reservation online

Was hoping someone might be able to offer help on this. I used my August 2018 points to reserve a studio in May. I'd like to change it to a 1 bedroom. There is availability but it's not asking if I'd like to use my 2018 (which I have enough of) use year points. The only option it gives me is my 2019 points. Does anyone know why? TIA

Do you have enough points to make the new reservation without canceling the existing reservation? If not, that is the issue and, if that is the case, you might want to call MS to make that reservation for you as it could be possible to lose it if you take the time to cancel the existing reservation and reserve the 1BR reservation - especially since you are within 7 months.

When you tried to book the 1 bedroom did you do so using the modify feature or by simply looking for availability? If you were modifying the existing reservation it should allow you to use those points.

Go to the reservation for your studio. There will be a link to modify and then you do the search for the new room. If it's available you will select it and it will replace the reservation using the points that you currently are reserving the studio with. Slick and easy!

I was playing around last night on the mobile version of the site, and got here:



I didn’t go further bc I was tired and didn’t want to mess up my Princess reservation, but I got one of my reservations by modifying, an if I recall correctly, once I ot last the sort of screen show, then it allowed me to specifiy that I’m cancelling, which makes the points available to choose from.

So if you only got to that screen, you wouldn’t see that.
