Do you think this menu would be too long/too much?

Soup
Salad
Appetizer
Sorbet
Entree
Dessert
Cake/Coffe/Teas

I REALLY want to incorporate the Canadian cheese soup from Le Cellier on our menu but I don't want it as the appetizer. Salad I don't care for, I say to cut it but not sure what everyone else thinks. I like this pattern because it is hot, cold, hot, cold etc.

What do you all think...

I am having something similar, but the appetizers are being served during cocktail hour and not during dinner.

It does seem like a bit much, but I guess it would depend on what you had as hors d'oeurves...or even if you had them at all. We had a really amazing buffet, so we opted to just have fruit, cheese, and crudites for the pre-reception...

i had a similar problem becouse we really wanted te cheddar soup. so we are having

soup
salad
pasta
sorbet
dinner
cake
fudge plates

the problem was we wanted the soup but our moms loved the pasta and being itialian my mom said we needed a pasta course.

i think it will be fine- what foods were you thinking just make sure everything is not too too heavy

we are having 5 itmes at the pre rescetion.

this is what our families are use to

Thanks for the responses!

For our pre reception we were just going to do a cheese, cracker, and berry display, a crudites display, and long stemmed strawberries stuffed with goat cheese and have our bar open... I don't think it will be too heavy.

For our appetizer we were thinking goat cheese ravioli...I was thinking more of a smaller serving of salad as well, and a cup of soup as opposed to a whole bowl... I am just not sure of what a normal meal like this consists of...

I think you will be ok! :thumbsup2 Your pre-reception sounds nice and light...

maybe warn your guests, well warn is probably not the word, that dinner is extensive so don't fill up on cheese! LOL I've always wondered if our guests did...lol

Thanks! It is such a dilema because I don't want a ton of food to go to waste but I still want what I want yah know lol!

That sounds good!

I have no clue where to start with the menu--half of the things on the menu's DFTW sent out, I have no clue what it is.

I think the menu sounds good, and from what I have heard, the goat cheese ravioli is devine!

If you were really looking to cut something, I would consider cutting the desserts, and just serving cake, unless you have your heart set on the slipper dessert or something like that.

Thanks girls! My WP said that the menu would probably work out fine so I think we are going to keep it that way:goodvibes
