I am so excited about taking my kids to Disney I can hardly sleep at night and I'm driving DH nuts!! The plan is to surprise dk's with the trip - I hope that's not a mistake. We have DD-15, DS-11, and DS-9. This will be their FIRST Disney trip ever. My husband and I went to DL in 1993 - 2nd trip ever each. So we are all definitely Disney-deprived.

I've read all the DL books at the library and have been lurking here for months. However, I just now realized that we will be missing a lot due to it being off-season when we've scheduled to go: May 9-12. Somehow this just didn't sink-in earlier. I may be able to move our plans up a day to include Saturday.

What are we going to miss? Will we be able to see any fireworks, shows, etc during this time. And HOW do we see WofC? I am so overwhelmed right now I can't think straight, so I'm sure it's not as complicated as seems.

Help???

Rumors have it that WofC will have a fastpass - if that's the case, head at opening to DCA and get those.

May's not that off-season. Things should be opening up again. Sunday will probably have late hours - but it will be a busy AP day.

Relax - they'll be plenty to do and see and enjoy. You don't have to do it all! The kids will love it!

There is so much to do, I don't think you'll feel like you're missing much at all...especially since it's been so long since you've been there! Have a fantastic time!!! :thumbsup2

There will be things to see, just less of them. You will need to use your Sunday (and maybe Saturday if you add it) to see the shows.

Aladdin is a must - your kids will love it! It shows Thurs-Sunday so see that on Sunday (or Saturday) or you will miss it.

Fantasmic is down until late May so that you will miss

Fireworks will probably be on Sunday night but not on weekdays. It will probably be Remember Dreams Come True which is much more than a fireworks show. Lasers and special effects help make this the best Disney fireworks show ever. You MUST see it if it is the fireworks show they have going.

World of Color may or may not be going. If it is it will probably shown on weekdays in May and you can catch it then.

The parades are usually every day so you can catch those on weekdays.

I went on a day trip May 15 Saturday last year and it was awesome. You will have a blast! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your replies! You are right - there will still be so much to see and do. I tend to get OCD about seeing and doing everything during the planning phase. I definitely want to see Aladdin, but hadn't realized it wasn't every day so will be sure to do that on Sun. And I'll watch for WofC fastpasses. I sure hope it's started by then. Thanks for your reassurance! Disboards is THE best!
