My DH and I have decided on a trip to Ireland during my spring break (April 9-16). While I realize the weather may be awful, I'm willing to put up with it
What I'd like is a list of must sees. We will most likely be flying into Dublin and out of Shannon. As far as I can tell, we'd like to stay in the southern and southwestern areas, if only to minimize driving etc. DH has expressed some interest in also visiting Belfast, though I'm not exactly sure what about it interests him.
We typically like beautiful scenery (DH is a big photographer), great food and nicer hotels. We also enjoy museums and neat historical places, but do not enjoy guided tours. We also like the occasional hike or other active diversions.
We will be renting a car. We arrive in Dublin on a Sunday morning and depart from Shannon the next Sunday morning.
Thank you so much for any ideas. It's one thing to look through guide books, but I'd love to hear first hand accounts/recommendations from the trustworthy Disers!
