I have just discovered this wonderful topic on Disboards! We will be in Disney World in May for our DD first trip! She is five and is so excited! I have some decorations for our window at Pop. I want to do something to suprise her when we get there (maybe have something in the room, or a suprise package for her to open when we get there.) I would LOVE some ideas on some things to do! Thanks in advance!:yay:

I can't believe no one has answered this. I find that the companies that you pay to do this are way too expensive for the stuff you get. So, after we check in my DH or my mom disctracts the little one while I hurry to the room and set up something myself. Usually carry whatever it is in my carry on luggage, go place it in the room and then rush back to be "surprised" when we get to the room. Sometimes small stuffed disney characters (mousekeeping loves to put them in fun settings for when you come back to the room at night. We have had them all watching a movie on the bed with mickey holding the remote. One time they had a couple take-out menus lined up on the night stand by the phone with all of the characters looking at them. I guess they were picking where they would eat? Or my favorite was when we came back to the room and there was a card with all of the characters signatures on it and a sharpie in Goofy's hand with his signature being only a partial signature - like he was caught in the act), a special t-shirt I've made from the disign board, and autograph book and pen set, or just about anything you put together. You could get one of those little kid-size tote bags and fill it with disney things (Silly bands, a stuffed minnie, coloring book and crayons, a t-shirt....whatever you personalize for your child. The possibilites are endless and the smile they have when they see what Mickey left for them is priceless.

I give my kids a small gift everyday starting the morning we leave. I leave little notes with the gifts, like they are from the characters. Like one gift might be a small winnie the pooh figure with a note that says "Can't wait to have lunch with you at Crystal Palace today" or a princess notebook with a pen and a note saying "Can't wait to see you in your pretty dresses at the Palace" . I always tie in the gift to what we are doing that day or what park we are going to. The kids, even as they are older, still really enjoy waking up to this surprise every morning on our trip! The gifts are always small, somtimes dollar store items, because we always have limited packing space. They are actually usually more excited with the notes and the plans for the day then, rather than the gifts which is fine with me because it saves money- LOL!

We mess with mousekeeping too. I would set a scene for the kids stuffed animals, like them taking a pic with a disposable camera and when we came back the mousekeeper would stage them with different props. It was fun!

I would order an autograph book, pen, and mouse ears from here:

those would be a great first day gift.
