Hi

We are off for our first time to Saratoga Springs as DVC members in 2 weeks and can't wait.
Could anyone help me out with where is the best place to buy groceries? I'm mainly thinking bread, milk etc etc.
Thanks very much

You should be able to buy essentials like milk, bread from the grocery store at SSR, however the prices are expensive so I wouldn't consider a 'big shop' there.

Publix supermarkets are the best bet in my experience, the closest could be the one on the junction of the 535 & 192.

I would also only purchase essentials there as it is not cheap.

To get to the Publix you will pass Goodings at Crossroads (not cheap by Florida standards) and go right by the newer Walmart on the 535.

Another alternative is the Winn Dixie supermarket on Apopka-Vineland Rd just north of Crossroads. Turn left out of the Downtown Disney exit, go straight over the next traffic light, and Winn Wixie is on the right about another half-mile. It is certainly cheaper than most supermarkets, although their fresh produce section isn't great. We use a combination of Publix and Winn Dixie - until the new Whole Foods opens on Turkey Lake Road next year!!
