my fiance and i are going on uour first trip to WDW and the rest of orlando and tampa bay. ok well some of it. i would like to know any advice you can give us for going ths time of year. we have not yet decided what resort we are stayng n but are thinking boardwalk or beach club something like that. i am a big ride fan and love to ride rides but i am coming to WDW and orlando for more then that so what we are thinking is would it be more wise to spend more time in epcot and mgm and animal kingdom then MK? i want to see MK but dont think we want to spend more then a day there if that long. what is your advice with crowds this time of year and so forth and how much time should we allow just to visit the 4 parks in WDW? also what is a good pass to buy? i was thinking an annual pass for the resort discounts and stuff. we want to really see the boardwalk and the pleasure island complex too. what time do the parks open and close this time of year and what are the best days to go to each park or the worst days with the most crowds in each park? just any thing you can help us with would be awesome. thank you in advance we are so excited to be going now we just need to sit down and figure how much this will cost us.

We love the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club area-very convenient for Epcot and MGM. It shouldn't be terribly busy when you are there-but you might want to consider taking advantage of the 7 for 5 deal that goes to Nov 18-UPHP are included and then you can come and go as you please and not worry. We often walk into Epcot in the evenings, stroll around and have a drink and just watch the fireworks. Also take the boat to MGM take in Fantasmic and a couple of rides at night-leisurely pace. With the UPHP we really don't feel the need to get up really early and run around like commandos trying to do and see everything. If it gets too busy, we go back to the resort, hang around the pool, have something to eat, stroll around boardwalk and go back to the parks later on. Just our opinion-we also spend about 1 or 2 part days at MK/ 1/2-1 day at AK-the rest are spent between Epcot and MGM.

I think that Beach club would be good if you are planning to spend more time at Epcot or MGM. I also think that I might (if I wanted to include MK but not spend a lot of time there) get tickets for MVMCP. You could spend the day at AK, head to MK for the party and have almost a walk-on to every ride you would want, then get to see the Christmas parade and Wishes.

Not sure how long you are staying or what specific days you are going, but the crowds are not bad at all! How long you are going to be there may play a factor in how many days I would say to go to the parks, but at least 4 days in my opinion. If you go to AK and then MK that night for one of those days, then you could do MGM one day, Epcot one day and then split the 4th day between Epcot and MGM (I would end at Epcot, due to the later hours and also the chance to try another WS restaurant for dinner).

I think the worst days at MK would be the Friday night party, but Sunday is not bad at all! If you are going just for the rides, parade and fireworks, you will have a lot of time to ride. You can enter the park around 4-5 and stay until midnight.

Depending on how many days you are wanting to actually go to the parks, the annual pass is a good buy IF you know you are getting a resort discount with it - you probably won't know that for sure until at least August. If you are only going to the parks for 4 days and doing the party, then you may want to wait until August/September to buy the tickets. Then you canget a voucher at the Disney store or buy your 4 day hopper. If you are thinking about entering the parks 8 days or more than the annual pass will be a good buy. So, a lot depends on how many days you are staying in Orlando and if you are doing the parks several days.
