Help with FurReal Toys...

Has anyone purchased one of these toys? I purchased one yesterday as a Christmas Gift. I opened it and put the batteries in (properly - had DH check) and the thing would not work. I have the switch "on" and they are new batteries. I guess I need to return it to the store today...thank heavens I checked it. I would have been so disappointed to have given it and not have it work. Should I take a chance on another? Has anyone bought one and how well do they work? If you've purchased one as a gift....I suggest trying it out before you give it....the "on/off" switch is a little hard on the baby kitten, but it is obvious on the mother cat. Thank you for any direction you can give me.....the thing was a nightmare trying to get it out of the box!! It's safely all wired in....very secure!!! Thanks again...Happy Holidays!

I bought the big cat that was very popluar for DD the year before last and have had no problems with it. My Mom bought the Panda for her this year, but hasn't taken it out of the box to see if works yet. From my experiance with the other one, I would say maybe you just happened to get a dud and exchanging it for another one would solve the problem.

You have to remove the wire ties very very carefully. DD got one from Santa last year ans we had to send it back. "He" sent a replacement very small furry friend, and sh is asking again for it this year!!

If you yank on the wire ties it strips the mechanism. I hope to heaven it works Xmas morning!!!!

My daughter got the baby kitten and the mom cat last year. The baby kitten didn't work right from the start, so we exchanged it and the replacement worked right away. The mom cat and the baby kitten replacement have worked perrrrrrrrfectly.

Thank you all so much......I returned it today to a different Walmart....and they didn't have any to exchange for.....soooooooo I'm off to the other Walmart to pick up another one. You've restored my faith.....thank you again....and have a wonderfully perrrrrrfect holiday!!! Barbara

Boy I'm glad I read this!! My youngest DD bought her sister the kitten for Christmas and we got my youngest DD the panda and the puppy. I'll be sure that I'm the one removing them from the boxes.......I can see the kids just pulling them out!!!
