Last year I received an offer by post for a free passeport découvert for a family member. When we visited in December I went to the passport office to ask about it for DD1. As she was not with us, is over 18 and could not visit in person before the offer finished in February, the CM stamped the letter and said she could post it. We rather forgot about it over Christmas but as she plans to come with us in May we want to sort it out now. Looking at what we have though, I have no idea what to send other than the stamped offer which has no form to fill in related to it. I rang guest relations who told me to go through the French website to the annual passport pages and fill in an online form but this only tells you how to apply/renew the normal passports as far as I can see. :confused3

I am loathe to just post off the stamped offer with a covering letter for fear we will never hear anything again. Any ideas?

Does your invitation look like the one on the link or not ?

Looking through the thread on DCP I've found this on page 5

Vous aurez également la possibilité d'établir votre Passeport Annuel définitif par correspondance en joignant votre Passeport Annuel temporaire au bon de commande à télécharger

Reading further I would fill out the form as if you were ordering a PA Découvert and join that along with your stamped invitation and a photo.

I don't see any other way of doing it - keep photocopies of everything and fingers crossed ;)

:)

Thank you so much for all that research, Carrie :flower3:. I'm pretty sure that is what the invitation looks like but it is with DD at the moment and I have been trying to get hold of her. I have sent her a link for this so she can look herself.

Reading all the information from the first link I am not at all confident that what the CM in the passport office told me is true and I may have wasted precious time queueing there... but we can but try. I see also that those presenting themselves must have a pièce d'identité which is not a photocopy and I am certainly not going to post an actual passport or driving licence off to Disneyland.

Are these "PA Découvertes" always promotional or can you buy them like the others?

Many thanks again. :)

When you send off for an AP through the post you just send a photocopy of your id - ours is taken front and back for example so they have all the details and the signature.

I'd try it after all all you can lose is the price of the stamp.

The PA Découverte no longer exists for sale and I don't know if you saw another post over on DCP concerning the end of all of the free PA and certain special offers :confused3
