I didn't know where to post this, and though I would try here. We are going to be staying in Ft. Myers in June for about 4 days at a house rental. We have only been to Orlando, so this is unknow territory and are looking for ideas on things to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? We thought about doing an Everglades tour but didn't know which was a good tour to pick.

Thanks!!

Ft. Myers is known for it's beaches. Not sure what part of town you are in but Bonita Springs has really nice ones. The winter estates of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford are both in town and are great tours.

Everglades are about 2 hours away.

I would second the Edison and Ford estates, very interesting and beautiful to see. The beaches are all white sugar sand and gorgeous. We love Sanibel and Captiva Island for a day of shelling and shopping. Some great restaurants there to watch the sunset from the beach.
Bonita springs area--near the south end of Ft. Myers Beach has Lovers Key State Park. It is a lovely beach to take a picnic lunch.

The airboat rides in the everglades are a lot of fun to. We have gone to Captain Dougs in Everglade City.

We always drive over to Sanibel and/or Captiva at least one day. The Ding Darling Nature area is terrific and the beaches are even better than Ft Myers. Lots of shells.
