Hi all! My family and I will be going to Disneyland for the first time the last week of April and I am looking for some help with hotels as I am overwhelmed! We are traveling with an almost 3 year old (yeah for still being free!) and a 7 month old. I booked a room at the Embassy Suites South as I wanted a room that has a separate bedroom so we can put the kids to bed or have them nap and we won't have to sit in silence. However, the more I think about it, I think being walking distance would be better since we may need to go back to the hotel several times a day. I am not sure if relying on the ART would be a good idea if a meltdown occurs.

Can anyone tell me about recent stays at suite type hotels within walking distance? Prefer to stay under $200/night.
Or, would staying onsite be a good option with little kids or too overpriced for what you get? I found a good deal on the PPH for $1700 for 5 nights and the GCH for $2200 for 5 nights as well...Help me!

We stay off site.. and the Art is good... using it is hit and miss. depending on the route.. our route is two stops.. so its very easy for us... been on it empty and full to bursting.. fold up your stroller before you get on ,, and kids on laps if lots of people will make the trip a lot easier...
if you are going to go back to the hotel several times a day, then staying on site is a solution .. although saying that.. some of the hotels on Harbor look closer than the PP.... hope you have a great trip..

With it being so soon, you might have trouble finding something close like you want for under $200/nt.
When you look online if there is nothing showing available, take the time to call and ask.

Good luck
Geemo

I'm on the minority in that I prefer on site. However, I don't have experience with ART. I do hate the evening Tram hustle to the lots. Unfortunately the prices you quoted on the onsite hotels are on the average/high End rates. It's a personal choice if you are comfortable with that. GCH is a nice treat. Easy in and out privilege. PP is an easy walk. (We always walk through GCH). So door to door from DL to PP isn't exactly close. It's across the street from GCH. So it's still nearby in my opinion

Off site, I've heard good things about the Best Westerns and HoJo. Not sure about suite availability. They did open a new MarriottSpringhill suites. Have no personal experience with this location. It's on the side away from th other hotels. So maybe... Maybe ART isn't a problem. Not really sure.

The ART only becomes a real problem at the very end of the night when everyone is tired and trying to leave... we always make our way out of the parks just before that happens.. if you know the times you can make it work... :) :) and when people become rude and try and push their way on.. even though the line of people is 6 deep and they just come up and get in line before you.. then look at you like try and tell me to get to the back.. which I always do.. ! cant help myself..>:(:darth:

We just stayed in a suite room at the Camelot Inn a few weeks ago. We paid $170 a night, and really liked the rooms. There is a table, sink and 2 mini fridges so we could prepare a bit of food ourselves to cut down on costs. Plus it was within a block of the entrance so travelling to/from the park was super simple.

We stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites in a parlor suite and really liked it. Not sure if it's available this close to your dates though. Things will always be more expensive the closer you get to the dates.
