Help with figuring out reservation issue

I booked our family trip last year, 2015, for this October 2016, for my mom's 60th birthday. When I booked there were no discounts available, but my understanding based on everything I have read there may be a free meal plan offered for the time we are there. Our 180 days is May 1st for ADR but, discounts might not be offered until possibly July. Here is my question, if I update our reservation for the free meal plan with the ADR that I make in May be erased? Please help!

Any ADRs you make now would be unaffected by any changes you make to your resort reservation. Go ahead and make your ADRs. If a resort discount comes out later, go ahead and take advantage of it.

Your ADRs will not be erased, they re tied to your MDE account, even if you cancel your hotel, they are still there.

Thank you so much for answering me so quickly. I have been really worried since the trip is for my mom’s birthday and my whole family is depending on me to book and plan everything.
