Help with fall ticket purchase decision

We're spending one day at Universal before a week-long Disney vacation in October. DD7 is VERY excited about WWoHP (but doesn't know that we're going - the whole trip is a surprise). But DS is only 3, and is pretty timid about amusement park rides. Our plan is one nice, long, day at both Universal parks, and there really isn't much room in our itinerary to handle that any differently. So my question comes down to purchasing tickets.

It seems that the only "deals" on Universal admission are couple with longer stays (at least three days). The best I've found so far for one day park-to-park tix has been Undercover Tourist, which would run us $440 for the four of us. So my questions are:
1) Any suggestions for places I might find a better deal on one-day tickets?
2) What are the chances that if we wait until after the summer surge of guests coming to check out WWoHP that there will be cheaper deals available for the Fall (beginning of October)?
3) I notice that prices have already increased substantially from last year. Can I be reasonably confident that prices aren't going to increase again between now and mid-September or so (such that I can be comfortable to wait and see if discounts come out)?

Hey there fellow Kansas person :) Looks like we just live down the way from you!

I doubt they will raise ticket prices again but you never know. Usually ticket prices are raised once a year but discounted tickets come out all the time. I would go ahead and wait to see if they come out with anything. The only problem is that the discounts offered might only be for FL Residents or Pass Holders.

Sometimes www.undercovertourist.com has discounts but right now not on 1 day 2 park tickets. It is less expensive to buy direct from the Universal website since you get $10 off each ticket when you pre purchase. Even AAA has a mimimal discount on the 1 day 2 park so it is not any better :( Just keep an eye on the boards, if there are any good discounts they will be posted here :)

There will still be a lot of fun things for your 3 year old to do. IOA has lots of water areas to play in and the JP area has some fun interactive experiences that might be fun for him. US also has a great kid's area that he should find alot of fun as well. My DD (7) loves Universal now more than Disney and the onsite resorts are wonderful. I would suggest looking into booking a room at one of them so you can get the Express Pass that comes with being an onsite guest. With little ones, this can be a lifesaver :)

:rockband: We're staying one night at Hard Rock Hotel, then doing the Universal parks the next morning. Our current Universal "touring plan" involves me spending the morning in WWoHP with DD7, while Mrs. AJRitz takes DS3 to the Dr. Seuss area at IoA. Then we'll meet up for an early lunch at Three Broomsticks and head over to the kids' stuff at Universal together.
