Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are planning an engagement party on July 9th. We have our theme which is Alice in Wonderland Tea Party. I'm hoping you all will have some ideas on how to make it stick to theme but also, what do you do at an engagement party? It is four hours and besides eating and stuff like that, do you do games? What keeps people busy? I'd hate for people to be bored.

Here are the things I am planning right now:

-I designed my own printable invites with the Alice theme.
-I ordered ceramic teacups to decorate. I'm putting three on each table and putting my flower arrangements in them. Nothing crazy, just something to brighten things up.
-I ordered very cute Alice in Wonderland bags from etsy that I'm going to put three tea bags in and give as favors to each person.
-I want to make arrow signs saying "this way" "that way" and such by the entrance.
-I want to get "eat me" and "drink me" tags for the teacups and pieces of cheesecake.
-I'm also hoping to hang paper lanterns across the room.

What do you guys think?
Any help or ideas would be so appreciated. :goodvibes

All your ideas sound great. Don't worry about games (although some alice-themed Mad Libs at the place settings might be cute). People will be chatting and won't be bored. If you have a way of bringing different courses out seperately rather than having all the food out at once, I recommend doing that as it helps keep people from eating everything in 20 minutes, haha. You can also set aside some time for toasts and thank-yous, maybe between the meal and dessert. At our engagement party we just had dinner and dessert and it was fabulous. I hope this helps a bit.

This is SUCH a great idea!

I may have to steal it for my shower :flower3:

I would attempt to add some playing cards to the table center pieces or some mini topiary type plants that can be arranged to look like a hedge maze, possibly on a buffet/cake table?

If you are handy with icing, I would even write "eat me" right on the desserts!

My parents gave us an amazing engagement party and a few things I loved about it:

We had a gift table that was decorated with the Disney buttons, Just Engaged, Happily Ever AFter, etc. They were so cute and can be found on Ebay!

My mom made cake pops, they were a BIG hit...

The gift table also had the Mickey/Minnie bridal ears....everyone LOVED them!

Etsy is really a girls best friend when it comes to planning your wedding, I have seen some Alice in Wonderland themed items there as well!
