We are planning a cruise out of Miami in December with stays at WDW both before and after the cruise. Our plan is to rent a car at MCO, stay at WDW for a few days, drive it to Miami, drop off the car, and then take a shuttle to the cruise port. After the cruise we plan to do the same thing in reverse.
Our group is large (8 people) so we are considering a 12 passenger van. Are there any agencies you would or would not recommend?
Does anyone have any experience in either dropping cars off or renting cars in Miami? Is it better to rent from a location near the airport or from a smaller facility near the port? Has anyone rented a car after a cruise? Do they come and pick you up from the port?
Our previous cruises have all been out of Port Canaveral. I have rented cars from MCO several times but never from Miami. Any special tips we should know?
Any advice or help from someone who knows Miami or has done something similar to what we are planning would be much appreciated!
