Hi Everyone,

I am a first time poster. I recently stumbled upon this board through cruise critic, and it has been very helpful thus far.

Six of us (all adults) will be arriving at MCO on 6/21. Five of us are coming from BOS, and one from JFK. Flights are coordinated to arrive within minutes of each other. We have 2 rooms reserved at CBR for 7 nights.

I booked through an on-line travel service back in Jan. I had to create two separate itineraries because of the different flights. On one itinerary are the two rooms and five flights from /to BOS; on the other itinerary is the flights from /to JFK.

When I signed up for DME, I was asked to fill in all flight info for both flights, which I did. However, when I received the DME Docs last week only the 5 from BOS were included, nothing for the person from JFK. I called and they said his name wasn’t on the itinerary so they couldn’t include him on DME.

Any suggestions? This is my DD’s BF coming from JFK, and she’s getting anxious (so am I).

Thanks,
Jerry

It seems that your online travel agency messed up, so contact them to fix it. The online travel should also arrange the Magical Express reservation for the sixth person.

The WDW room reservations must indicate everyone who will be staying in the room. (It doesn't matter if one guest is on a different flight PNR.)

If a person is not on the room reservation, that person will not be allowed to use Magical Express. (Otherwise, anyone could use Magical Express transportation to get out of the airport to the WDW area, and then take a cab to a local hotel near WDW.)

By the way, it doesn't make a difference that your flights are coordinated to arrive within minutes of each other. You could arrive hours apart and still both use Magical Express. In fact, I would suggest working it out so that if one of the flights is delayed, the passenger(s) from the other flight take(s) the first available DME motorcoach to the resort, rather than wasting time waiting around the airport.

thanks for the reply HH,

You're right . I do believe that the on-line agency screwed up. I have been in touch with them and they say there is nothing they can do. They offered me a $50 credit for my inconvenience.

I have been in touch with DME as well as disney reservations, but as of last friday they haven't received any info from expedia . Perhaps when they do, I can add the BF to the room res. Maybe then he will be able to use DME. We really don't want to rent a vehicle this time.

Great tip on delayed flights by the way. I'll keep that in mind.

thanks,

Jerry

Hi Jerry, and Welcome to our boards...you are going to find some terrific info here.
So, if I understand you correctly, the on-line TA, expedia, booked your dd's bf's airfare, but never added him to the itinerary for the resort? That was pretty stupid wasn't it!! It shouldn't have made one iota of difference as to what flight he was coming in on. I flew Delta to MCO on a Monday, dd and dh flew JetBlue, 36 hrs later. They were both on the itinerary, and had no trouble using DME.
I will be interested in what expedia does to rectify this situation. They are the ones that messed up....that young man needs to be put on the itinerary. He has to show up on the resort listing. Please let us know what transpires. I really have no advice for you other than to keep at them until they make right the mess they made.

Good news!!

I just got off the phone with DME. They were able to add DD’s BF to our ME reservation, and they will mail out new docs right away. The CM said they should arrive in plenty of time. I hope she’s right. Apparently Disney doesn’t receive reservations from on-line agencies until about 5-7 days before check-in. Kind of cuts it close, IMO.
We’ll certainly rethink how we plan our trips in the future. We have used expedia several times before and have always had good luck.

Thank you HH and Diane for the info and support. Diane, I’ll keep in mind what you said about one flight being delayed and the other party going on ahead. It could save time at check-in.

BTW Diane, we are just north of Boston, just before the NH border.

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for checking in Jerry...I've been wondering all day how it was going.
As for future booking, it really is easy to do it all yourself, especially now that you have found the DIS!!!! Or you can use an agent that specializes in Disney vacations.
Hope you have a terrific trip!!! Be sure to come back and tell us all about it when you return.
I'm in central mass, just east of Worcester. Ds went to school at UMassLowell and then lived in Salem NH for awhile..nice part of the state to live in!!
