ok, i have downloaded some cool disney frames and want to insert my pictures and be able to print them in 4x6 size. they are really cute, mickey, snow whtie etc but i have no idea what to do with them now??

Were they free? Where did you get them? Post the site, and I'll try and help you.

i found the link on the board, it was it was at squidoo dot com, then slash wdwphotos.

If you scroll down the page you will see frames about 3/4down and you can download 32 of them.

Let me know how you do. they are great!

because i am jsut getting familiar with photoshop elements, this is the error i get when i try to insert my photo into the frame.
"could not complete request because it does not work with index color image(convert to rgb color mode)"
sorry but i have no idea how to do this?

Ok, first of all, the image is not intended for printing (72 dpi), only for displaying on the internet. You can print it, but it ain't gonna look good.

If you still want to do it, open the frame and the picture you want in your frame in the Elements work area. Go to "Select", "All" around the frame, then use your move tool (top tool in the tool box on the left) and drag the frame into your photo. You can resize your photo with free transform (control +T), to fit in the frame. Here's what I did.

Looks like those might make nice desktop backgrounds. Olaf is correct saying they would look horrible and grainy if printed at 72 dpi. I had some photopass pics from last Jan's trip that we took off the internet and when I was printing pics to do scrapbooking, I had forgotten that some were photopass and I just printed them all. They look horrible! They are very grainy and pixellated.

Thanks for the info, i did not realize they would not be made for printing. too bad, as this would have made awesome postcards. Thanks for showing me how to do it though,

ok, so i tried one as a test but i can't figure out how to save it, it won't let me save as jpeg. and do i need ro resize it in adobe to 4x6. i did that but it looks so tiny. should i have open it as a 8.5x11 and saved it that way?:confused3

 Is this true???? I am still new to digiscrapping and I downloaded these frames too... (and already incorporated them in some 12x12 layouts that I want to print...) How do you tell what the dpi it is??? When I downloaded them, I opened it up in my program (I am using Paint Shop Pro X) then I actually clicked on resize and it said the original frame resolution was 200 pixels /inch. Wouldn't that resolution be OK to print at? (I know 300 dpi is the norm) I don't want to pay $$$ to have my page printed and it look yucky?? I thought they were really cute!!!

It's probably the dpi of your full layout, you have to check it on the element prior to combining it with other items. 200 should be fine for printing, but yes 300 is the nicest. I have some items that I used in digital printing that I'm now questioning paying to print, I'm unsure what everything came in at, so I am thinking of doing a sample page from www.sbtoshare.com. They print you out a page free as a sample of their print work.

Is dpi the same thing as Pixels / Inch??? My layout is done at 300 pixels/inch and the frames I downloaded are 200 pixels/inch (I found this when I opened the element in its own document before combining it in my layout). I think I am going to resize it to 8x8 page and print it at home to see how it looks before I send it out and pay to have it done as a 12x12 page....

Which one was that? I've downloaded five of them, and they've all been at 72 dpi. A couple of them have been larger (10x8), but even after resizing to (6x4), I still only get 128 dpi. You can see this by dragging them into a 300 dpi page. Those frames will be very tiny.

I've been clicking on the "download high resolution" link. Is there another link for the higher res versions?

Hi Stephanie - I just clicked on the download button and got all the frames in a zip file. I have no idea what the differance is. I am using the two frames for MNSSHP. I printed my layout at 8x8 and the frame actually looks clearer/crisper than the pic I used in it (with a crappy digital camera) The image is only about 3 x 5 on my page though :confused3
