Help with Dinner Choices for Honeymoon Trip

I've done Chef's Counter at Napa Rose twice now, and have it booked for a third time in September. It's worth every penny and is a must-do every time I visit Disneyland! It's a long experience - so plan for a minimum of two hours.

It was one of the most romantic things my husband and I did - two hours of tasting food and wine, chatting with each other and just generally enjoying each other's company. Can't be beat.

I'm super excited, but he has no idea what he's in for lol I don't drink but he should fully enjoy himself!

It's a REALLY unique experience. The head chef and sous chef both come out and ask you about allergies, foods you love, foods you hate, foods you aren't willing to try, etc. And then they start firing up courses. We love trying to guess what they're making AND who it's for between the two of us. Some tastes will be smaller, altered versions of things on the menu and some will be things that they just make up depending on the great ingredients they have that day. I've been twice now (once with two people and the second time with three people), and we've yet to have a copy-cat dish!

We are also on our honeymoon in August - we booked Blue Bayou for lunch, WOC dessert party, and Steakhouse 55 for dinner on our last night. Also have Goofys Kitchen breakfast for departure day!

Hopig to go to Carthay Circle Lounge, and Cove Bar for counter service dinners/snacks :) Only there for 3 days!

Enjoy your honeymoon!

Two words: LOBSTER. NACHOS. Seriously. One of the best things I've EVER had at a Disney park - and they were big enough for a group of us to share and still feel full!

And Carthay Circle Lounge is a WONDERFUL respite in the middle of a busy park day.

Congrats and enjoy your honeymoon!!!

Congrats on your wedding and honeymoon! Sounds like you have everything down, and I didn't even think to do a character dining departure day....that's a good idea. Can you do Minnie and Friends if you don't have park tickets that day? We'll be there 5 days with 5 day park hoppers but by Saturday will have used all 5 days. If we do an early breakfast at Minnie's is that allowed?

I have wanted to try those Lobster nachos for forever but never made it to Cove Bar before. Fiance doesn't eat fish or seafood and I'm afraid they'll be too big for me alone and I'll waste so much money on them by myself :(

No , park admission is required. Goofys Kitchen , Surfs Up and Storytellers are all character meals doable on departure day since they are held at DLH , PPH and GCH respectively.

They are a huge portion but worth every penny. There are lots of other options for the non seafood fan.

Catal is a lovely restaurant, but bear in mind it is quite pricey and you need to dress appropriately too, ideally, though I don't think that is enforced TBH. Although you'll know if you go in and feel under-dressed as a result, with quite a lot of customers appearing to be wearing their best suits (in the case of guys) and best dresses (in the case of the ladies).

My wife and I can also recommend Wine Country Trattoria as a decent place to eat, within Disneyland California Adventure. There are some great views at this restaurant, the food is fantastic there too and decently priced (not too expensive). As a drink, the punch is worth trying too. Think that may be non-alcoholic but it is still a good one to have.

Haha! Funnily enough, you aren't the only person to mention those lobster nachos! If I wasn't excited enough already...! Along with the off-menu cocktails! Thankyou!

I thought a character breakfast in a hotel meant we didn't need to use a ticket (as we'll also have no days left!), and it will end our 3 week roadtrip!

Minnie and Friends is the name of the breakfast at Plaza Inn, which is a restaurant located on Main Street inside Disneyland. It is not an actual Inn and you DO need park tickets. :)

You could do something like Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. For that you don't need tickets.
