Looking for a good dinner option one evening. We are meat/potatoes kind of people. I eat salad, but we don't care for cooked/steamed veggies or anything like that...pretty picky. We are use to eating at places like TGI Friday's, Chili's, Outback, Red Lobster, and other similar places (nothing fancy), just to keep that in mind when helping us decide. If there are other options that aren't in the poll that you can direct me to then please let me know.

TIA

Check out the buffets. Chef Mickey has prime rib and assorted other items. Cape May New England Clambake might not be your first thought, but they have carved beef roast, mash, chicken, ribs, salad, mac and cheese...

I don't think the Poly places are for you, the other two I haven't tried. The buffet suggestion is a good one. The Rainforest Cafe is very much a Chilis, Fridays, Applebees kind of place so that might work.

Just a thought--you could always stay in and order a pizza. I've heard about some good pizza delivery places near WDW.:earsboy:

I checked the menus on these and have seen a few pictures, and my main reasons for picking places like Kona and 'Ohana's are for their meat options. Having a plate with a meat, potatoes and broccoli is no big deal, I just wont eat the broccoli...more room for dessert ;) Just cause the food is on the table doesn't mean you have to eat all of it. As long as veggies are the main course :goodvibes

I was telling you that we are use to places like the ones I listed so those of you who eat at places like Le Cellier, Yachtsman, ect try to compare places like those to the ones I have listed. We're picky as far as the type of food we like but we're pretty easy going as well. Make sense? I mean we are use to Italian places like Olive Garden and Johnny Carinos, but plan to eat at Tutto in Epcot and it's nothing like those places IMO but absolutely :lovestruc it.

I've eaten at `Ohanas and Kona Cafe`. We love Kona and like `Ohanas. I'm a meat and potatoes girl and I love the steak and chicken at Kona. They serve a great bread and butter beforehand, and have great desserts.

I live within 2 miles of all the restuarants you just named except RL...my guess is your from New England!!

I think you would love Ohanas, but another you might want to consider is Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge..similar to TGIF/Chilis.

We ate at WCC last year when we stayed at the WL, looking for something different.

I am a Prime Rib lover and have enjoyed it at CRT and Captains Grill. Teppan Edo has good meat offerings but with the veggies....

I agree with the buffet suggestion....we are one of the few the proud...who love Hollywood & Vine and Cape May Buffet....

Both have carving station which I always visit....

Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood (imho) are very like the Applebee's/Chilis/type restaurants......

(just more expensive). :)

Have a Great Visit!:rotfl:

I voted for O'hana's because you said you are big meat eaters and the skewers of meat are pretty good. ( I have only tried the turkey, but my family has tried everything but the sausage). I also love Olivia's but usually get crab cakes as an appitizer and the fish or pasta so I can't give an opinion on their meat dishes.

Yeah, all that meat, wings, sausage, chicken, etc looks soooo good in the pictures and that bread pudding I believe it is looks  too

I've never done O'Hana's so I couldn't include that in my decision, I chose Big River Brewing-the food is always good. We ate at Kona on our last trip last september-and i thought it was tasteless and bland as did my whole family...you can also use this site it gives ALL restaturants, menus and prices-i love it.

good luck :thumbsup2

How about WCC at WL - doesn't get any more meat and potatos than that!

Since you said you are meat eaters I say Ohana would be your place.

Big River Grille without a doubt! Here's my review from November:

We then wanted to go to the Big River Grille & Brewing Works for dinner at the Boardwalk Inn. DD19 & DSonIL wanted to check out the resort as they booked their honeymoon there for next year. It is truly gorgeous. We walked around a little then checked in for dinner. They do not take reservations here but we were seated immediately. We had a nice table by the window and could look out onto the Boardwalk while we dined. The restaurant looked about half empty. Our waitress was a delightful girl and since DH didn't know what the beers would taste like he asked her opinion. She told him some detail on each one and then he went with a coke as he was still unsure of what their beer would taste like. When our drinks were served, she brought DH a sample of one of the beers that she thought he may like. He ordered one then. DD17 & I ordered the ribs. We both agreed that they were the best we've ever had. DD17 orders ribs everywhere so for her to say that – it really means something. DSonIL ordered the mahi mahi and it was also delish. All 6 of us were eating off of each others plates the whole way through this meal because everything was delectable. I highly recommend this restaurant and we all believe it was the best meal of the trip. DD19 had the hazelnut chicken and it was to die for. She said she must have it again on their honeymoon. DD’s friend had the chicken alfredo and it was also good.
