Going with extended family for the first time. I'm the one in charge of all planning- lucky me???

We are all on the dining plan however we have several 10-17 year old children that would probably prefer kids meals or skipping a table meal or two all together. We do have several character buffets planned- thus the dining plan.

My question is, if some of the 10-17 year old children opt to not have an adult meal, can the other adults in our party use their credits even if the children are not present? For example, if some of the adults wish to go to a 2 credit meal without the children, can they use the 10-17 year olds' credits?

Credits really aren't tied to EACH individual. They are based on the total number of people on the reservation in each room. For example, we are a family of four and just stayed 6 nights on the dining plan. So, we had 24 TS credits, 24 QS credits, and 24 snack credits (6 night X 4 people). When we ate at Biergarten for the Candlelight Processional which was a 2 TS package - we used 8 TS credits. However, when we ate at Sci Fi, my husband and I paid out of pocket for our salads so we only used 2 TS credits for our boys steak dinners. You can mix and match how you want. You can use as many as you want in a day as well. Just when they are gone, they are gone.

Thanks for the information.

It sounds like you have only split the dining plan with everyone still present. Is it possible to share it with others traveling in your party but staying in another room?

For example, if my 10-17 aged children and I opt not to go to dinner, can my husband use our 3 dining credits for 3 other adults that are traveling with us, have the dining plan, but are staying in different room so that they can enjoy a 2 credit meal? In this scenario, my husband would use a total of 5 credits and 3 other dining adults staying in another room would each use 1.

You can use your credits for other people but I don't know if you can do uneven numbers with 2 credit meals. I know he could spend 4 or 6 with them spending 4 or 2 but I don't know about 5/3.

If it's a two credit meal you can't use one credit and pay the difference or use two different plans. It's all or nothing.

The credits to cover each meal must come from the same account, so for a signature meals the 2 credits have to be taken from one room for each person. However, your husband could pay with 2 or 4 of his credits, and a person from the other room could use 2 of their own credits for a meal. The odd credit scenario doesn't work, can't combine with credits from another room. Just let the CM know when you order which credits used will be from different accounts so they can be rung up separately.
