We are planning our first family trip to WDW for 4/08. We are almost to the 6mo. mark so I want to finalize my dining options. I have the Unofficial Guide Book here, but I feel really overwhelmed right now. Maybe you can offer me some suggestions.

I will be travelling with my husband and two children, a 6 year old girl and a 3 year old boy (we are celebrating their b-days while we're away). My husband and I are not fussy eaters.

We plan to take the Deluxe Dining Plan and will be staying onsite at Disney Sunday - Thursday.

So far our only "must do's" are Cinderella's Royal Table and the Hoop de Doo Revue.

So, what do you suggest?

Thanks for your help!

Can you tell us which parks you plan to be in on each day? My favorites are:

TABLE SERVICE
The Hollywood Brown Derby
Kona Cafe
'Ohana
Les Chefs de France
Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare
Boma (Breakfast AND Dinner)
Chef Mickey's (Breakfast)

COUNTER SERVICE
Sunshine Seasons
Columbia Harbour House
Pizzafari (but only because Tusker House is gone as we know it...)

How many Table Service meals are you looking for? How many Counter Service?

Can you tell us which parks you plan to be in on each day?

Thanks, Wendi, for such a quick reply. I'm sorry to say I haven't planned things in that much detail yet. Maybe, selecting our ADRs will help us with our park choices for the day.

Table Service -- LeCellier in Canada at Epcot; Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom for buffet breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet and Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner with Goofy, Pluto and Minnie or Cape May Cafe Breakfast with Goofy, Chip, Dale and Pluto

Counter Service -- Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom; Columbia Harbor House or Pinocchio Haus at Magic Kingdom; Sunshine Seasons or Yorkshire County Fish Shop at Epcot

Hi! I hope your trip is awesome! :goodvibes We really enjoyed Boma's, Breakfast With Lilo & Stitch, Crystal Palace (Character Dinner), Liberty Tree (Character Dinner), Cosmic Rays (counter) 50's Prime Time Diner, Toy Story Pizza Planet (counter). They were are favorites and we will go back when we visit WDW in September!

I have to add Casey's Corner in the MK for a great hotdog! Crystal Palace breakfast is awesome, especially for kids your age (and us adults!!). Have a great trip :)

some of r favs include:
EP- Coral Reef & Garden Grill (TS), Mexico (CS)- curros are the better dessert
MK-Plaza Rest, Liberty Tree Tavern (TS)
Peco's Bills (CS)
Studios- Pizza Planet (CS)
Chef Mickey (TS) atmosphere is gr8, food's gd

so-so were CP @ MK-characters were gr8 tho
Hollywood n Vine (dinner pkg to Fantasmic - made it worth it)
Donald's BK @ AK - again gr8 characters- we had a late time, food may be better earlier
Rose n Crown- lamb tasted & looked a lot like pot roast

Boma (dinner), Chefs de France (lunch), Akershus (lunch--great character interaction), Garden Grill (lunch---GREAT character interaction), LTT (lunch), Prime Time Cafe (lunch or dinner--DH LOVES their vanilla shakes!) and breakfast with Tonga Toast (grilled) at Kona Cafe.

As you can probably tell, we prefer our largest meal in the middle of the day with something lighter for the evening (the exception is when I absolutely PIG OUT at Boma!!)

I've eaten at all of the above in the last 6 mos and was happy with them all. (can't say that about every Disney meal!!!)

Happy planning!:hippie:

TS
Crystal Palace - if you want to meet Pooh and friends
Chef Mickey's - to meet Mickey and the gang - I prefer breakfast here
'Ohana at the Polynesian
Biergarten in Germany - lots of fun!

CS
Pizza Planet at MGM
Pizzafari at AK
Sunshine Season at Epcot

I think the best way to start is to plan out your park days, and then work from there. If you have the UG, I'd just check the calendar on their web site to get started. Once you have an idea of where you want to be each day, you can make dining plans that don't involve unnecessary travel time.

Well, I won't list all my choices here, but certainly for the counter service the flame tree BBQ at AK was a good choice for us.

We made a late reservation for Liberty Tree Tavern in lieu of Le Cellier the day we left because we ran out of time. It was a very good choice and I'll want to have it on my list when we go back. The roasted turkey was very tasty and they gave portions/ servings that were unparalleled at any of the other restaurants we ate. I think that was the only time we ate anywhere that I left actually feeling full.

Concourse Steakhouse wasn't bad.

Some of the worst/ most diappointing though had to include Mama Melrose's at MGM and Tony's Town Square @ MK.

I have to agree with a previous poster, we always plan our park days first and our ADR's around them. Since you have the Unofficial Guide you can use their Crowd Calendar to map out which park on which day. It does matter, as some days are more crowded in a park than other days. (Does that make sense?). Once we know where we will be we plan our ADR's in or near that park. (Maybe a monorail hotel a day we are in the MK for example.)
We also check out the menus on allearsnet.com to see which menus appeal to us. Once we know about where, and then what we like in that area, I am ready to make our ADR's

I have a 3 and 5yo boys so I'll tell you some of what we are doing, may give you some ideas:

Arrival day - no parks, Chef Mickeys for dinner
MK day - Tony's
AK day - Ohana
Epcot - Spoodles (but thats the only ADR we could get...)
MGM day - late breakfast at H&V to see Little Einstiens & CS dinner at Pizza Planet. We want to be sure to catch the parade here, plus character meet & greets for Cars, Toy Story & Incredibles.

The Ohana character breakfast is good for boys if you are looking for breakfasts/characters.

Have fun!

hahah you are going to get a lot of opinions here! But I must say- I am a semi-food-snob, and here are the places I love:

California Grill
Artist Point
Jiko
Garden Grill (mainly just for the fun atmosphere though......food is decent)
50's Primetime (fun environment, ok food....but YUMMY desserts!!)
Chef Mickey's for breakfast is a must do. It is sooooo good.
Boma
