I have a Nikon P80 that I no longer use and sold it on Ebay. I used the rest button to reset the camera to factory settings. At one point I saved a photo on my welcome screen so when I turn on the camera I see that photo. For the life of me I can not delete that photo. There is nothing saved on my internal drive as I already deleted photo's from it. It that photo suck there for life or is there a way to delete it?

Thanks!

According to p.116 of your User's Manual (link): "As the selected image is stored in the camera, the image will appear in the welcome screen even if the original picture is deleted."

Turn the mode dial to "SETUP". The 2nd line should be "Welcome Screen".

In the Welcome Screen options, looks like you can tell your camera NOT to display a Welcome Screen.

Your manual doesn't say how to delete a previous Welcome Screen picture. Perhaps what you can do is replace the current Welcome Screen picture with, say, a picture of all blackness. Turn out the lights, turn off the flash, and see if your camera can take a picture of total blackness. If it can, select this picture as your new "Welcome Screen" photo. This should erase your current Welcome Screen photo.

Afterwards, change the camera settings so that it does not display a Welcome Screen, as I described above.

Hope that helps.

It worked by replacing the picture with a new one!
