We are going Nov 30-Dec 7. Group includes Me, My mom (67), DS9 and DS3. We are staying at WL with the dining plan (not that it matters for this question!). I have been studying last years hours and UG crowd predictors trying to come up with some sort of schedule so that I can make AR's when my 90 day window comes up. Here is what I have planned, but you all are such experts, I was wondering if you could help me.

See what you think. ANY suggestions would be appreciated!!!! Dining suggestions too!!!

Wed, Nov 30
arrive Orlando (not sure what time)
just hang out, have dinner at resort, get adjusted to time difference (we will be coming from Wyoming and will be 2 hours behind Orlando time)

Thurs, Dec 1
AK morning and lunch
afternoon at WL
MVMCP for evening

Fri, Dec 2
Epcot morning and evening with aft break

Sat, Dec 3
MGM morning and early aft
evening?

Sun, Dec 4
Epcot

Mon, Dec 5
Universal

Tues, Dec 6
MK

Wed, Dec 7
leave Orlando mid day
maybe a character breakfast if we have a later flight

So, there it is. Hopefully you all can give me some insight to your expertise!

Thanks,
Kari

Well, what I see is not a lot of time in MK. Granted you will get a lot done the night of MVMCP, but......unless you are in MK on Mon, Tue or Sat nights, you will miss Spectromagic, which is historically only on those nights. That may be something you want to do your first night, to get into the "disney" spirit. Or Monday night. Try to stay away from Sat night if you can (more crowded). And you have yourself at MGM for morning and afternoon. Are you not going to Fantasmic? These are 2 "not to miss" things. If it were me, and I only had 6 days to do the parks, I would scratch Universal and give myself more time for the 4 parks you are already paying for and maybe a little opportunity for some "down" time, especially with a 3yo. JMO.

By the way, we were there last year at the same time, also at the WL. You will love it. Request bunk beds. ;)

Is this your first time to WDW for the kids? If so, I agree... not enough time at MK, even though you're doing MVMCP. Also, if you're a first-timer, I'd spend a day at MK and then later in the trip do MVMCP. That way, you won't get wrapped up in the whole newness of MK and find yourself wandering around like a kid in a candy store during MVMCP. If you already bought MVMCP tickets, you can still change the dates-- just call them.

I like that you're spending time at Epcot, especially with the Holiday Storytellers at WS. We're really looking forward to that!

Thank you for your help. I agree, I don't think that we have enough time in MK. We usually go to DL every year, so I am familiar with the rides, but not in location since it is different in WDW. I am thinking that I will wait a little to see what the hours and EMH turn out to be. In the beginning I was thinking that we would use the EMH PM because of the time difference, our bodies would still think that it was 10, when it is 12 in Orlando, but from what I have been reading EMH PM is a crowded mess!!! That's the reason that we are going in Dec, to help avoid some of the crowds!! The only thing I need to decide on right now is which night to go to MVMCP. I was thinking of going on the 1st, but I see what the previous poster is saying, so do you think that the 6th would be better? Maybe a good way to end the trip? I know that I don't want to go on the Fri or Sun, so the 1st and the 6th are the only days that will work.

Again thanks for the help. Any other suggestions?

Kari

We went on a Tues. last year and I thought the crowds were very light.

We also did MVMCP before actually spending the day in the park. I have been to MK several times and knew my way around, however, we had my parents with us who had never been. Keep in mind that it will be dark and unless you know the layout it is very disorienting. It would have been better had my parents been in the park in the daytime first to get acclimated. Just a thought.

Tuesday would be a good choice. The only concern might be that it's your last night, so if you're dead-set on doing MVMCP and the weather is extremely bad (which is very, very rare that time of year), then you have nothing to fall back on. But I think someone said MVMCP has been cancelled only once. It would be a great way to end your trip-- and give everyone in the family something extra special to look forward to. I'm thinking about doing the same thing for our Dec 11-16 trip.... start with a CP dinner pkg on Sunday night and end with MVMCP on Thu night.

Another thought... Why don't you do MK the day of MVMCP (on Thursday)? Bump AK to some other day. I've read that MK isn't as crowded during the day of a MVMCP.
