I tried going through the search feature but my head is spinning from all of the answers so I figured I would ask;:confused3

1) My family of 5, my wife and myself and 3 children, one being 4. Would we all purchase a DDE card and what are the price totals for all 5?

2) I understand that there is an automatic 18% gratuity, which is fine, but what if you are really unhappy with your service. Do you just speak to the manager? I did run into this case about a year ago in Epcot.

3) My wife and I don't eat much and usually share a meal. The DDP in the past was too much food and was not beneficial for us. Can you share a meal under one card in a sit down restaurant?

Thank you in advance:thumbsup2

The DDE card is a discount card available to Annual Pass holders or FL residents. I'm not sure if you are confusing that with the Disney Dining Plan.

IF you are a Passholder, here are the answers to your questions.

1. You would probably only need 1 card for your family.
2. If there is a problem with you service, ask to see a manager. I believe something can be done about the 18%
3. I think you can share a meal because the discount is off whatever the total is, not the number of meals.

I hope this answers your questions. :goodvibes

1 card will provide a discount for up to 10 guests on the same bill.

The 18% gratuity is added automatically; however, if you are unhappy with your service you can ask to have it removed. You can then add the TIP at your discretion.

Sharing with DDE card is fine. Whatever you order at the TS restaurant will qualify for the 20% discount provided the restaurant accepts the DDE.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Yes we are newly premium annual pass holders and I will join the DDE as well based on your answers. This will help allot as we are not big eaters and the DDP was way too much.

When I use the card with my family do we only submit the one card and they don't require all to have one?

I would guess the only reason for my wife to have her own is to get the discount in case I am not with her.

Yes, you need only one card if you're dining together.

But a second card for a spouse is only $25. For us it is worth it.

No Sharing on the DDP. Thwy don't allow it.

I think they were asking about the Disney Dining Experience, not the DDP. ;)

And yes, OP, you only need 1 card - although I think you can add one for a spouse for an extra $25 (not sure if that's changed).

Yes, the only reason to get a second card (extra $25 IIRC) is if the other person would be going without the "main" card holder. Other than that, you can have friends/extra family, with you and the discount will be good for up to 10 people. :goodvibes
