Help with Daniel Island, SC.

Anyone here from Charleston?

I am thinking of going to a tennis tournament on Daniel Island, SC in April. I can't even find the island on the map! North or south of Charleston?

Any lodging on the island at all?

Sounds fun but I have never heard of it. I think the islans and beaches of the Carolinas are beautiful though!

Daniel Island is between Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston. There is one hotel on the island (Hampton Inn I think, but most likely booked by now for April). Most of the downtown hotels will put you about 15 minutes from Daniel Island. It's a beautiful place, but pretty small. Is it the Family Circle Tennis Tournament? We used to go every year when it was in Hilton Head. It's tons of fun and a great place to get close to the players. Have fun, hope this helps some.

I would love to go...never been to a professional tournament. None around here ever.

I am sitll pricing airfare from MN I would probably need to rent a car?

What's the traffic like in these parts. Is staying in Mt Pleasant a better option as far as traffic goes?
