Help with custom t-shirts

I am new to the creative Disigns section of the boards and I was hoping someone could help me out with creating a design or a t-shirt for my family's upcoming Disney trip.

We are a small group (4) and I wanted shirts with our family name on all of them but then something extra that is unique to the individual (like their favorite character or something).

Please let me know if you can help me or point me in the right direction.

There are just a TON of amazing designs that fit your description. I recommend start looking through some of the designers' threads and then specifically make a request to the designer of the ones you like for your family.

Started looking through the threads (I have no creative ability at all) and they look AMAZING. My question is how do I get the design is it mailed to me or do I send them the shirt? I'm totally lost about how the process works...please excuse the ignorance.

Oh! Just reply in the thread if it's a current thread, and ask the designer nicely if they can personalize a certain design for you. For instance tell them your family name or first names that you want applied to the design. Many times they will even change a design to a different character or whatever you request. You could even request them to create a brand new design based on an idea that you have. Everyone is very nice and it's amazing the work that goes into it! Just remeber to say "please" and "thank you" and you can't go wrong! It's especially nice, if you post a picture of your t-shirts or whatever you create from the design.

The designers usually post the custom design right on the thread and you can right click on it and save it to your computer. Then you can use it on whatever you want. (Like transfer paper to iron-on a t-shirt.)

Thank you very much dr&momto2boys you explained it very well. I wanted about 10 designs do you think that is too much and do I request them all from the same designer...who do you recommend?

You could request them all from the same designer, but you'll probably find that you like designs from several of the designers. That makes it easier to request too.

All the designers are great! I suggest looking through the links on the sticky thread on top. That leads you to many designers. Unfortunately it's not updated so you'll see some of the designers are no longer personalizing. Still if you find one you like-start a new thread requesting someone else to make a change to it or create something similar.
