Can anyone recommend a nice FAMILY beach in this area? We are currently looking at Lori Wilson Park. It seems to have good reviews and be a nice, relatively quiet family beach. Does anyone have experience with any others that might be better? We need good parking, easy beach access, changing area, etc. Also, any recommendations for restaurants in the area?

I realize we could find better beaches/sand by driving further, but we already have a 13hr. drive coming to Disney....so....if we run down to the beach once or twice during our two week trip, the drive needs to be short for DH!!

I went to Cocoa once in high school, but barely remember it! I do remember that the sand left much to be desired, but, we can always take the kids to a gulf beach(maybe next year a short trippie to Gulf Shores, ALA which is not even 9hrs. from us)!....Anyway, back on topic..lol..any words of wisdom from any Cocoa people????:flower3:

We went to Cocoa Beach when we were in Orlando in February. We stayed in a condo by the Pier. It is down toward Cape Canaveral. It was a very nice beach there. There are also some good restaurants on the Pier. It seemed less crowded there than some of the other beaches. We loved it! There was also a dressing area there and parking. We could see various ships arriving and leaving from Port Canaveral.
