My son's 5th birthday is March 4th, the same day we are arriving at WWD. He would like to do a character dinner on his birthday, he is interested in Mickey or Stitch. I called today and Chef Mickey's reservations are pretty late that night, so they recommended the Garden Grill.
We are flying out really early that morning, so I am afraid my kids will be too worn out to enjoy a late dinner that night.
I thought I would ask you guys for opinions. Is Chef Mickey's worth waiting later for? How's the Garden Grill character dinner? We are also considering the Garden Grill for lunch- we will be there in plenty of time for that.
Are there any other lunch or dinners so wonderful that he would be excited even without Mickey? (He's not dead set on Mickey, just someone he thought he would like to see)
Do they do a good job with birthdays at Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill?
Thanks in advance for your help!

'Ohanas at the Polynesian has Stich along with Minnie, Chip and Dale and sometimes others for their breakfast meal. Donald's Breakfast in Animal Kingdom also has Mickey in it and we enjoy going to that one.

I might rest that evening and enjoy an early morning birthday breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The Garden Grille has gotten some wonderful reviews, but we have never eaten there. We took my son to Chef mickey's for his 9th birthday and it was wonderful!!!! Enjoy your trip pixiedust:

You can do CM the day after. You are going to be so darn tired that night. You can go someplace fun for dinner early the night you get there and have your breakfast birthday.
