Good afternoon all!

I have a question about the remaining Cat V staterooms on deck 12 for an Eastern cruise in November next year. Booking concierge to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Would you choose a stateroom on the portside that has the bump out balcony (12010) or one of the starboard side staterooms with a regular balcony (12522, 12518 or 12516)? Any help is appreciated.

On another note, I am going back and forth in my mind over this sailing which is not during our anniversary week verses a comparable sailing on RCCL’s Oasis of the Seas in an Owner’s Suite - the week of our anniversary where the cost is pretty much the same. It definitely appears the Sky perks are better on Oasis but never having done concierge on either line I am open to opinions and suggestions to make this the best celebration I can for me and DH (who is not a Disney lover but loved our Dream cruise last year). Thanks in advance.

I would take the bump out because those normally go pretty quickly. I've done 12008 enjoyed it. I can't talk about RCCL but I have done 6 cruise with 7 & 8 planned on DCL all in concierge. I have completely happy with the service on the whole ship all the way down to how clean it is. I like the DCL shows and full movie theater. I really gotten to know and become friends with the concierge staff on-board. I agree it's a tough call. Do you have any questions about DCL.

Thank you so much jlemieu1 for being so quick to respond! We only have our short DCL Dream cruise under our belt but were very impressed with everything on the ship. I do have a few additional questions.

Did you find the connecting door to be a problem? Were you able to book a cabana with few problems? If we book the bump out room and there are no lounge chairs on the verandah can we request them from concierge? Is it true that we can be accommodated and book a table for just the two of us? I think that is it for now. Thanks!

Connecting door -- No issues so far. There is something odd with cabin 12000 but that doesn't matter in your case.
Cabana -- Yes every time I wanted one only 2 times so far. You need to place your request at 125 days out with shore-side concierge.
Lounge chairs -- I have never needed too but I heard you can switched them out. Being concierge I think they handle your requests a little quicker.
Dinning -- I have always done late dinning and all 6 cruises with just us 2 at the table. Make sure to note that with shore-side concierge.
other perks -- small free wifi package, 2 happy hours open bar before each dinner sitting, Helping you book on-board activities, I like the lounge as a quieter place to retreat too.

For privacy, the aft most cabins in concierge are off a short hall that few people use. Only the Cat. T folks next door come near. We've done 12528 on Fantasy and liked it because of the quiet and how convenient it was.

jlemieu1 - This is all very helpful. Thanks so much! It's good to know we won't be distrurbed or be disturbing to the folks in the adjoining cabin.

Bettyscruise - I see the cabin you are referring to and wasn't sure if it is a bit less convenient to the CL but you have a good point about the privacy. We really like watching fireworks and seeing CC off in the distance from a starboard side cabin.

I can only speak from the view perspective. On our last Fantasy Eastern Cruise, we really enjoyed all the views from Starboard side. This matters since we have a little one who needs naps, so looking out over things is a benefit. We had a harbor view at St Thomas, an island view at San Juan, and of course the Castaway Island view.

We have also sailed the 5e extended aft verandah rooms and really enjoy the extra space (for the same reason of sleeping kids). The mini loungers are great and give you a real sense of luxury.

While I haven't heard the owners suite at RCCL I think that might be a really great option too. I think you may get more in the way of perks sailing with Royal than you would with Disney.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much Quellman for your thoughts. I am having a hard time making a final choice. I would hate to be on the Oasis wishing I was on Fantasy but would hate to be on Fantasy thinking about the extra perks we could be enjoying (free internet, Coastal Kitchen and seats at the shows I'm talking about you!) on the Oasis for the same money. Plus the square footage in an Owner's Suite on the Oasis is quite a bit larger than the Category V. Decisions. Decisions.

None of the deck 12 concierge cabins are inconvenient to the lounge. It's all very close.

But I'd go royal. I don't even particularly want to go on oasis (freedom class is ignoring enough for me) but I'd do it.

That is good to know. Thanks Bumbershoot. I am wondering if the Oasis class is a bit big for us as well. I will check out the Freedom. I'm so glad I have more than a year to plan this trip! I feel like I'm all over the place. If we chose RCCL I know I will miss Castaway Cay and the fireworks show. Those were highlights for us.
